I LOVE reading everyones journals So I figured I would try to start my own!

I won't Bore you with the whole story of how we met and all that but feel free to go to our site and check it out!!

I am Sara, from TN- bout to be 20! My fiance is 22, He is from IN but has been here for over 2 years!(Just for me!)
We have been dating for a little over 4 years and got engaged New Years of 08'!

We will be getting married Aug. 1st 2009!!

For the first year (unfortunately) I got absolutely no planning done at all, only a ton of research!
We will be having a very low budget wedding but we'll do the best we can!!

I can't even begin to tell how much I love this forum! I've learned so much already and got some great ideas!!!

So I don't even know where to start....

-My colors are Pink and Black!

-We have both of our venues already and got great deals on them! (the best part is they are only 5 minutes apart, if that)

I just ordered my dress(It a Mori Lee, I got it for 600 and I got my veil for free!)

So being that I have a tiny budget the place we are using for our reception is a small place, in my small town(where everyone knows everyone! lol)
Its called The Barn! but neways it has these kinda awkward poles in the middle of the floor...so I'm wondering should I try to decorate them some how or just leave them and hope they fade away lol?

Oh your venue looks lovely, it's a blank slate, you can turn it into anything. As for the poles you could decorate them but if you do too much you'll bring more attention then you want. Maybe some tulle and flowers?

Ok so I'm super excited!!!!!

We are planning on doing feather centerpieces something like this

I've been searching for feathers but they seem a lil expensive(for my budget) So We were at HobbyLobby("Heaven"Lol) and they had just a few in stock and they were 50% off so we got what they had...............To make a long story short They let us order 100 w/ the 50% off sale!!!!!!!
I am SOOO excited!!
I was starting to be scared that we weren't going to be able to do it!!!:)

I would decorate them. That way you take less of a chance of someone walking into them, and it would look really pretty.

So were going to get our 100 feathers that we ordered tomorrow!! yay!
I hate to speak to soon but at this very moment everything seems to be going pretty smoothly!!

Being that we have such a limited budget we are having a candy bar(which is going to be our favor to the guest) but All of the favor boxes and stuff I found were way to expensive for us. So the other day I was at HobbyLobby and first we found the little clear favor/treat bags but they don't close......then we found some bags in the jewelry section that zip up and they were same size better deal!!
So we bought some stamps, so we could decorate them up a little!
Works for me!!

Aww, I really like the card box, and your favor bags are awesome! Are those the small ziplocks? I'm looking for some smaller ones for our tissues (cry packs), but I haven't been able to find them anywhere.

Go to Hobby Lobby and look in the jewelry section! You get like 100 for two or three dollars or something like that!!! Ya its basically a small ziplock!
I think they would work great for that!

Hello! I really like everything so far, especially your dress! I had big poles in my reception hall and we decorated them with tulle and lights. Either way, I'm sure it will look great with all the other decorations. :)

I love that there are other Sara and Scotts in the world! I actually went to high school with another Sara who was dating a Scott. Made the seating at our formal difficult. Looks like your planning is coming along nicely.

Lol I know! It would have been really crazy if we would have went w/ the 15th! but we chose to do the 1st instead!!

I posted this in the pet section to I hope thats okay? If not ill delete it.

So we got a Boxer pup back in Sept. and OMG did we fall in love! This was the first time I had ever had a boxer. They are like the best dogs ever! Anyways long story short so I don't bore everyone....We had to get rid of him for financial reasons,pretty much. I don't think i've ever been so heartbroken in all my life. Such an awful feeling! Thankfully I know he's w/ a GREAT family but still I feel like ive abandoned him or something. I just really miss him!! Anyways,Sorry I just needed to vent a little.

I'm so sorry! (((HUGS))) I can't even imagine how you must feel. At least you done the responsible thing and found him a good home. Some people wouldn't have done that.

THanks! We miss him terribly but We actually sold him to a friend that has his actual brother and sister and he is loving it! That makes me feel much better!!!

SO I never updated on our feathers. We called and they had only got 60 in so we went to get them and they looked different from what we ordered. Ours were very big and very white these were smaller and looked more off white. We brought them home and it doesn't really look bad we would just prefer the big ones! So anyways I called today to ask about it and the lady told me that she thought the same thing so she ordered 120 more!! hopefully these will be right b/c I LLOOOOVVVEEEEE my centerpieces!!!!!!

So I am the worst OW member:(!!! I started my new job about a month ago and I have just been so SUPER unbelievably busy I have't had any time to get on here!!!!!!I miss it:(!!! But on the positive side.....Things with the wedding planning are awesome!!!!!! I couldn't be happier!!!:) So ill try to update w/o being too awful boring!!!

So I got my invitations already! They came super fast!! I love them!!! They are plain black and white and you could get a little white ribbon for the top but I decided to make my own and do pink!!! Its kinda a tedious job to sit a glue together 200 little ribbons but ....I love it!!!!!!! I got reception cards as well and I know the people who I ordered them through so I got an AWESOME deal and also got free shower thank you cards and free napkins with our name on them!!!((I still have to take pix of everything all I have right now is the invite and its not a great one!!))

We are going to have the napkins and eating utensils already on the table. So we did a quick setup to kind of see what our tables will look like and I am loving it so far!!! We didn't even mean to but our napkins resemble our invitations!! We had already picked out the black napkins and then the free ones from them were the white beverage napkins! Cute huh!!lol

We are doing black tables clothes(not whats in the pic though)(and this is in my kitchen not on the actual tables lol)With a pink satin runner,that will be pressed of course!
It is a super long story about our feathers so too make it short it has all worked out wonderfully!!! I got exactly what I wanted for CHEAP!!!!!!! (the centerpiece in the picture is not what it will look like it was w/ the scrawny ugly feathers and we just threw it together to get an idea!!) We will be doing candles on the sides but not those, We haven't found what we want to use yet! It was my moms Idea to tie the little pink bow around the plastic wear and I love it!! These pictures are absolutely awful but they are the best I have for now!!

i think would be great idea tohave the candles be something like those in the pictures. I actually love the centerpieces and think they would look awesome with those higher type candle holders. if you could find enough of them!

Thanks!! I like those candle holders too but theres no more I'm trying to find something similar!! I tried some small ones as well but liked the taller ones better!

Today all of the sudden(two weeks after we've had them) my FMIL is upset b/c her name isn't on them. She wanted it to be worded James Scott...Son of...
Is this normal? Do most people do this? I never thought anything about it.
I feel bad but theres nothing I can really do now?
