I want to look more into this.. But i don't want to join a class and find out its a bunch of preggo's and older ladies. I've been asked if i was expecting enough.. lol. I just think it would get around my ankle/foot problem.. Does anyone have any information about this?

I used to teach water aerobics actually. It's a great workout and very easy on the joints. I didn't teach a class, only private clients, so other people may do it differently of course.
It's great for both cardio and strength training. Give it a shot Stacy - you might really enjoy it. Even if it's preggos and old ladies you might end up having a good time. It can be a really good calorie burner...:)

We belong to a health center and just use the pool. They sometimes have classes going on while we are in there, but we just keep to ourselves. I do foot work(lifting leg sideways and forward and "twisting" my foot in the water) I had foot surgery a few year back, and I do notice a difference when I get out. Sad to say, we haven't been there in months, we need to get back into it (we were going 5 days a week some of the times)

I've taken classes before, and am hoping to do so again at the gym we just joined. Every gym/class is different - some will have a larger percentage of older women, some less, but I've yet to go to one where I'm the only younger woman in the pool.

Frankly, it's kind of nice - there's much less "pressure" than in your standard aerobics classes, since everyone kind of works at their own pace (while I know you're SUPPOSED to do that with every class, the giant room-o-mirrors tends to lead to a sense of competition). And the fact that there are often a few older women and a few seriously obese folks (the low-impact factor makes it great for people with joint problems), usually makes me feel like I'm not the slowest/fattest girl in the pool. (Maybe that's a bad thing to say, but I really struggle with classes since I'm in a college town - it's not uncommon to show up to a class and have it filled with 22 bleach-blonde girls in full makeup, who know the moves by heart.)

So, it depends on the class, but it's very unlikely you'll be the only non-pregnant younger woman in the class, and the people in the classes are often some of the more chatty and welcoming in the gym.

Oh yay!! thank you so much guys! *^^* Now i'm really excited to look! I usually actually get along better with older people.. Since most of the younger ones here i want to bop in the head. :D But i didn't want to get funny looks or look 'lazy' or something, you know? Haha, i guess thats my high school parinoia talking. I'm totally checking this out. <3
Are prices usually expensive? I know its different in every area, but for the ladies who have taken it....

My mother took one of these classes after a knee surgery, and she really loved it. At the time, I think she was around 40, which isn't very old at all!

I say go for it!

I was thinking about this or maybe an exercise ball. I really want to try the water aerobics, but i'm scared to because of the costs it could come to over time... And google isn't helping me with my search. lol
