So now that my life has finally slowed down a little bit i've decided to join the journal world :)

Ray and I have been together for 5 years now we "met" at Perkins where i worked when i was in highschool. He actually left his number for one of my good girlfriends and she called me that night after she got off and told me some "weird" guy gave her his number. I for some reason told her to give me the number the next day at school and i was going to call it.

I called him the next day and we just clicked i guess. We talked on the phone for a whole month before i even knew what he looked like. (before i could stalk him on myspace) ha ha

we started dating shortly after and have been inseperable since. he's the greatest guy that i have ever met and im so glad that i get to spend the rest of my life with him.

Our wedding as of right now is going to be a fall theme. i don't want anything classy or formal because that is not me. im doing a lot of stuff on my own. not only to save money but i think that it's fun.

right now we are working on getting a venue set up and reserved... thats our number one priority. Though i have everything in mind. Even a few things scattered in our spare bedroom waiting to be opened.

My friend that i mentioned earlier is also getting married and we spend countless nights at perkins flipping through magazines and eating pie. which now that i think about it isn't a very good idea ha ha neither one of us work there anymore though.

Here's the definites that i have so far

Colors- Olive Green, Terracotta Orange, Chocolate Brown and Champagne
Dress- No sure on the one yet but it will be all lace
Shoes- Cheeta Print all the way- i love animal print :)
Guest Book- We are renting a photobooth and having each guest print off 2 pics and sign the back then we will put them in an album.
favors- carmel apples with sprinkles and nuts wrapped in cellophane
centerpieces- lanterns surrounded with leaves and tea lights with his mothers mirrors on the bottom :)
flowers- mine will be tiger lilys but everyone in the wedding is going to have different flowers, their pic i already have my list made, but they will be my colors.
bridesmaids dresses- i am so not picky and i hate it when i have to spend 200.00 on a dress i hate. so we are doing dresses from penneys or something they get to pick everything the length, style, the only stipulation is that it has to be in my colors :) and not white ha ha ha

i think that's about it that i can think of right now. i can't wait...

I guess i should explain how this happend too.

I always thought that i would know when it was coming. he's not the greatest at suprises. I didn't even know though.

It was a sunday and i had worked 2 double shifts in a row and was so tired when i came home from work. immediately when i walked in the door he was on me to take a shower. he kept telling me that i smelled like resturant and to go take a shower.

All i wanted to do was clean up the house a little and take a nap. He kept telling me and telling me until finally he said he was going to take one if i wasnt.

I should have known that something was up because he had already taken a shower earlier but i said what ever and went on doing whatever it was that i was doing.

he called my name a few minutes later to bring him and towel and i was so frustrated i went in and he looked at me with the cutest face i've ever seen (he was soooooooo nervous) then looked at the mirror and back at me.

i looked with him at the mirror and in the steam he had written will you marry me love ray.

i immediately said yes and shoved the ring on my finger.

2 funny things about this........

1) he had written this on the mirror days before this and i hadn't seen it because when i am home alone i shower with the door open so i can hear things

2) i jammed my finger days after putting the ring on and my finger swelled up so big that i had to get it cut off and fixed. ha ha

there are defiantly. pictures ha ha i was laughing so hard because this could only happen to me. i jammed it on the oven of all things! i was making brownies for me and FH and only used one pot holder slammed the oven door shut and jammed my pinky and my ring finger..

im at school right now ( should be one of the you know you are addicted to ow when) let me see if i can post some of the pictures.. ha ha

So my life has consumed me at the moment. Things are crazy with school and work and home. Im supposed to be doing homework right now. ha ha. Lately i've been thinking about changing everything, i have the time right? I was in target the other day, of all places to be inspired right? I saw this morrocan wall thing and i love the colors they are something like this.

So i've decided well we've decided that we don't want a fall wedding anymore. not that we are in a hurry to get married but i love the look of tents for weddings. Outside you can make as much noise as you want. Plus I want to change my colors.

Im still not sure if we will have it outside. But it's an option.

I'm starting at square one again. Even though i wasn't much past that.

okay so we have been talking about the wedding a lot lately and decided that we are probably going to move it up because there is possibly going to be a notre dame football home game the day of our wedding. which isn't bad but all of the hotels in the area fill up years before the day so our out of town guests wouldn't have anywhere to stay.

The new date is May 22, 2010 <-- it's actually 6 years to the day that we will be together. :)

The final theme is going to be a 50's glam wedding. it's more my style and i'm really excited i had time to think about it and change the things i didn't like.

colors are still being decided.
i could use some suggestions.

I am so excited that school is almost over. I don't think that I have been on here since before spring break. Stupid midterms and Finals. ha ha

Well I have actually taken the time to sit down and figure somethings out.
Our "NEW" wedding date is May 21st, 2010
Same year.. just bumped it up a little bit because though I really wanted to have a fall wedding.. Notre Dame and their football schedule didn't want me to have it.
Every date that we picked before was a home game which meant that the hotels around here would be booked.. and way tooo pricey for our guests

Our Theme is Vintage Glam (1920's-1940's)
I chose Purple,Green,Grey & Cream for our color scheme
The Guys will wear grey suits, not tux because FH hates them.
Then my girls will wear a plum colored dress. not sure on style yet.I will probably let each girl choose her own.
We are now doing a candy buffet for our favor. (so much cheaper) plus i found some really cool containers at salvation army & some garage sales.
Our dinner is going to be really simple we are doing pasta (different kinds of noodles, sauces, and goodies to put in them) With your choice of soup or salad and bread sticks. WE MIGHT HAVE MY WORK CATER :) ~discounts for me :)
I am going to have a birdcage veil and vintage inspired dress.
Im making the invites, menus, programs myself.
Centerpieces are going to involve lilacs (I LOVE THEM) plus they will be free to pick of my grandma's bush ha ha :)
We are doing a cupcake "cake" with various cakes FUNFETTI most def. thats my favorite and it's only 88 cents a box ha ha
My aunt and mom are going to do the flowers. My aunt is amazing :)
Each girl will have a different flower for her boquet(her favorite flower) her "man" will match her
mothers, grand mothers etc. will also have their own.
I am in the process of making a monogram for us. That we will put on everything.

I think thats it right now.
Finally, everything has come together.

We change our wedding to a friday in hopes of cutting some people out. sounds so bad but we were at 300+ ahh!!! way to expensive for our budget. and we have a lot of people coming from out of town.

Sounds like you're just trying to be practical. Weddings are really expensive, and 300 guests is a lot. I'm hoping to keep mine down to about 50-75 guests. Also, having it on a Friday instead of Saturday can sometimes reduce other costs too.

congrats on all the ideas and changes. You have thought a lot about it. I have 10 almost 11 months and i have not gotten that far lol
