Hi Everyone,

We are currently reviewing our wedding coverage information to see if there are ways that we can improve on our services and products that we offer. With that in mind, I would be interested in hearing what some of the brides and grooms in this forum feel they are looking for in the area of wedding photography.

For instance:

Style: Traditional or Journalism

Albums: Traditional such as Art Leather (http://www.artleather.com) or more to the coffee table books such as White Glove (http://www.wgbooks.com/home.html).

Also, how important are other items such as online proofs or DVD slideshows?

I would also love to hear from the other photogs here as to what trends they are seeing as to what today's B&G are looking for.

Thanks,

100% of my clients say the online previews are a must have . . . another thing that I've just incorporated into my packages is the Full Access CD ~ the couples really like that.

As a bride with family everywhere I am definatly looking for the online photos so family members can view them and purchase them. Something that I would like to be able to do is also be able to purchase the negatives. The photographer that I am working with gives this option after 1 year. You figure that friends and family that are going to purchase the photos will do so in a years time.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the input. I have already implemented the online viewing / purchasing area on our web site and while it has been popular, I wondered if it is something that should be included or just an option. The idea of a Full Access CD, as you put it Robin, is something that we are probably going to start offering as an option to our clients.

I seem to be stuck the most on the album area. We have used Art Leather Albums for years. They are nice albums, but I feel they are a little to formal for some of our couples. Also, my style of shooting is much less formal and I don't feel the albums "fit". We have other shooters who are more traditional in style and the AL albums work great with that style, but mine, not so much.

I know the wedding album topic has been beaten to death, but I would still value some opinions from Brides and Photogs on this. What do you like and why?

Also, I currently do a slide show disc of the images set to music, but I wonder if it is something that the B&G really like or it is just kind of "nice".

Thanks again for your input.

All of the ideas above are great. I offer both the Art Leather for those that want and can afford it and just proof books to those that want something simple and affordable. Many of my couples are doing this a 2nd time so they are more cost conscience then before. They still want the memories, just don't feel the need to pay as much. As for the slide show to music, it's more "nice" than "wanted" Most couples want the images on CD so they can print and share

My clients really like the fact that I offer a CD of high quality pictures in all packages. This saves the couple a lot of time and money!
