im through with this BORING house..
im dead serious.. the prettiest room is our guest room!!
i love our media room too.. but its ALOT of unfinished work...

i have to change some stuff ;) Tomorrow i think im doing some trim work and also, there is a piece of molding that is messed up on our door.. i might fix that. also, i think im going to make a headboard for our bedroom..
If i can find some paint, im going to be painting an accent wall. or a hallway, something..
Also, i have some decor stuff in the garage. its a bunch of curly willows etc and i think i should get a vase..

I know it seems crazy that im posting this at 430 am but i have been searching the web and looking for diy projects for HOURS. if anyone has any ideas for diy pictures or anything.. i know somebody that did a cool fabric headboard and then in the same fabric they did a couple wall hangings .. i think im going to do that in our room. i just have to wait about an hour to call my dad and see if he has the supplies at his house.

some ideas, i like the bottom one alot, but i think thats a little "younger" look then we are going for.. we really want classic, modern but mature

I love the Padded Headboard "Squares" in the link. I would love something like that in Our Master Bedroom. I do love the "Hotel" look. Which is ironic with Me working in a Hotel lol.
We have a Metal Bedframe so it has a Headboard attached. But i have been looking at getting a New Bed. I want a Divan with Draws underneath. DH keeps saying all We need is a new mattress.

As for the House in general. You sound just like Me.
I sit up at Stupid O'Clock looking for inspiration etc. We live in rented accomodation but We have free reign to do whatever We want (Within Reason) to the House and Garden.

I've constantly got little DIY jobs to do. Plus other projects going round in My head. DH tells Me to calm down about it all. But i want a nice home. And considering DH is a Painter and Decorator by trade (He digs roads for a living now) You would think We would have the latest Fabrics, Colours and Gadgets at Home. But that is not the case.

The Decorating is left down to Me to do. Although i draw the line at Plastering the walls.

Up until yesterday i had Three Mirrored Wardrobe Doors and a pack of wood leaning up against the wall on the stairs. DH turned down going out for a steak dinner to finally get His arse into gear and finish the fitted Wardrobes. So now i have storage. Woohoo!!!

Now i'm thinking about how best to Decorate the Master Bedroom. Paint the walls or wallpaper them?

A Womans work is never done. And Her mind is never calm

okay, so i should get around to pics sometime soon but i made some plants for around the house, also, i took off some of the molding that needs replacin and will be geting to sander from my parents tomorrow. i also found the wood in my house for the head board squares, although i think ill only do about 4 of them. tomorrow im going to go get the satin for it. im also thinking of adding some satin piping around the satin headboard pieces. i also dug out some of these really gorgeous pictures i made a couple years back. i think ill be putting them in the hallway by the guest bedroom. i have to attach backing to them in the morning. ran out of time

i also rearranged the furniture in most of the hosue :)

Woohoo!! An independent Woman who can make things and move things around. Also someone who isn't afraid of power tools. Why should the Guys get the Big Boys Toys. LOL.

Can't wait to see the new headboard when it's done. That's going to look so cool.

It sure does give Me a sense of achievement when i sit down in the evening knowing i've done stuff.
Today DH came home and found the Bedroom rearranged. :winktongue: And some pictures swapped from room to room. Finally framed a picture i drew years ago. (It has My old Married signature on it)

Plus He caught Me sitting down. :bbeek:

But i was painting 1/12th Scale Staircases for a New Dolls House i'm renovating.

See, not only do i manage DIY in the House.
I do it in Miniature too.

The Headboard looks great. With another Three it will look FAB!!!

And reading the breakdown of costs. They are a bargain too. Try and find something in the shops for that price will be like Hens Teeth.

We have padded Headboards in the Hotel and they cost something like £300 ($437) each. The one in the photo was even more because the bed is eight foot wide. (Excuse DH, Myself and Our Witnesses being Idiots lol)

wow, thatsa cozy bed

ya, im definatly adding AT least 3 more.. not sure how many after that. i did these in a matter of minutes after dad cut em. hes good like that for me ;)

i had extra material and my mom really wanted to make some cool pillows for me to match these. so i will have a couple in the brown (mini pillows, they are cool, like 4 x 4 (in) and a 4 x 6, they almost look like doll pillows but she has a bunch and i love them) and then a small one in the stiped material and a couple normal throw pillows) - my grandma also suggested we do sheets, my dad is gonna bring out my machine and ill put her to work on that haha

im thinking curtains to match to.. i have to figure it out.. im thinking of having BOTH colors, like the brown with an "overlay" of the striped.. could be cute.. and it would all be so afforable and custom. We have this really nice feather comforter that my grandma took this afternoon to get cleaned for me (can you tell my grandma is pretty involved in my life??, she lives with my parents so when i go to visit she always goes "so whatcha working on" and she loves helping, i give her little stuff to keep her involved) and a brand new DEEP brown duvet cover that i cant wait to open... as soon as i get everything in order, i will :)

also, my dog is allergic to carpet, although i would love a carpet, im trying to think, maybe something hypoallergenic??? anyone know of anything

our bedroom is the place that needs the work. our bathroom too. it was one of those spots we said "we'll figure it out later"

2 years later..
