Hello! I'm Shari, and grow fresh cut flowers in NE Ohio, as well as berries and potted perennials and shrubs.
I belong to the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers, an organization of folks like me-both large and small growers of cut flowers. Let me know if you would like to know who is in your area. I have supplied several do-it-yourself bridal parties with flowers.
A grower can suggest uses for the flowers, let you know where you can order those certain special flowers (that they might not grow). It is best to trial your ideas beforehand to see if things work out as you planned. Then several days before, pick up you flowers, make the arrangements, and keep them in a cool spot out of direct sun or away from heat sources.
Your flowers should last well past your special day. Bouquets can be placed in water as well as the boutonnieres. Make a sleeve for the bottom of the stems, and wrap with ribbon. This can be placed over the stems when you are ready to use the flowers.
