Well as you can see by my ticker, my wedding is a way off yet BUT I've been really throwing around ideas for centerpieces.

I'm not really sure where I want to go ... I like the idea of mirrors on the table with floating candles but that seems so overdone maybe .... I like the idea of real flowers in vases on the tables but that can get expensive .... so I'm just really not sure!

The one thing I DO know, is that I don't want anything really tall because I want to be able to see around the room and my guests to see around the room! And the reception hall that we are having has long tables; no round ones.

So I just want to get ideas! Feel free to post your pictures and share!

While I don't have pictures of what our centerpieces will look like, we are doing small(ish) square vases with a floating stargazer lily in it. Then, we will have different size candles around it and some pink (and maybe black, I'm not sure yet) "diamonds" scattered around, with some silk petals.

Our florist is only charging us $8 per centerpiece and our venue will supply the candles if we want to go with white (but we may go with pink, again, not sure yet). The diamonds and petals I found on ebay super cheap!

Here's an idea of what we had:

I used wooden roses in a vase on a square mirror, then had votives and some candy all around the table. I also put a frame with "Reserved" or "Friends & Family" for special tables. You can also see our flickr card (for guests to upload their photos) as well as the little tri-fold paper tent thing that had the menu, a thank you message, and a special verse.

The roses were a bigger hit than I imagined; I wondered if people would think I was being cheap for not buying real flowers and I thought no one would want to take them home because really, who else wants hot pink & bright orange roses?? Well, aparently a lot of people! I didn't take a single centerpiece home and I even had our venue director asking where I got the centerpieces. :-) That made me feel really good!

Here's mine. It's a new take on the floating candle. I agree with you that mirrors are so overdone! I'd get so mad when someone would say I should have mirrors. Mirrors are expensive, and hard to get rid of after the wedding.
