ok so im trying to design and price what my centerpieces will be ( i keep getting ideas that cost wayyyyyyyyyyy too much) but anyhoo i have this idea that i like now but im having trouble looking for the vases i want, the ones i want look something like this http://www.nybgshop.org/Mercury-Glass-Footed-Vase-p-19472.html but i want plain glass ones, and bigger (maybe a little wider too).... i know, im being a little bit complicated, but in my head hte design looks really beautiful

My idea for those who were wondering: i was going to put those little clear fake ice chip things at the bottom and have a little bit of brown ones mixed in (my colors are pink and brown) then have beautiful light pink lilys submerged in them (2 or 3 depending on size of vase) then i wanted to put some floating candles on top (depending if i can get the silk flowers to stay submerged) then on top of the vase i wanted to tie a brown ribbon where it tapers in a little and have the whole thing sitting on a pink cloth napkin with some brown confetti(either heart or star shaped) around it. and i thought it would look nice if i put one of those little floralite things in the bottom.

so if anybody can tell me where i can get anything remotely like that (or one of those giant brandy snifters that are not extramly expensive) that would be greatly appriciated and thank you in advance

Hmm... that does sound like a really cool idea. It seems like I saw something slightly similar to that at Wal-mart. It probably wasn't as fancy looking, but it would be cheaper. I'm not completely sure though. You could also try stores like Ikea and Michael's. Or I wonder if you could go with one of the really big candle holders and turn it into a vase?

thanks, right after i posted this i went to the libbey site (after looking at the champaign glasses sitting on the counter) and found the brandy snifters i originally wanted. and a glass pitcher that was the other design i liked, except for the fact that it is a picther and has a spout and a handle, if i dont find anything else i may use that, or the snifter, i dunno

I just left Micheals and they had vases that exact shape, but with a silver metal stem and a glass 'bowl'. I did not check the price though since I just walked past them and thought they were pretty. I can't find them on their site but I can never find anything on their website.

Check Save-On-Crafts. They have clear glass apothocary jars that might be something you would like. They also have large martini glasses and the brandy snifters. I have ordered from them numerous times and the quality and customer service is top notch!

I haven't seen those but I did find a great resource for bulk vases. Vasesgalore dot com. They have "fake" silver vases that might work for you

I think it's Libby Glass that has an outlet in Shreveport, you can find all sorts of great deals mostly on glasses and goblets, but also on vases and other neat items. If you don't, try googling for glass outlet or crystal outlets near you. I know there used to be a number of them along the river between Ohio and West Virginia. I'm sure other places have them as well.

how about hitting up an art store? it may take a bit more work but you may be able to rig something together yourself... sometimes it even looks better as you can customize it to your specs
