I am not a flower lover!!!!!!!! I love colour. I don't care what kind of flower it is, as I think all flowers are beautiful, but some are just ugly colours. Everything else in the wedding seems more important to me personally, than the flowers. My decorator is really encouraging me to go with fresh cut all around, what to do? She believes this will make an important difference in the elegance of the wedding. This will be expensive. Should I pay, is it just me that doesn't really care about flowers?

If you are not a flower lover, and flowers are low on your list of priorities, then don't go extravagant on flowers. I have seen weddings that were very elegant, yet pretty minimal on flowers for the reception decor.

Are there other decorative elements that you prefer instead of flowers, such as candles (an inexpensive look yet such a beautiful ambience), tulle & twinkle lights, simpler floral arrangements (perhaps a tall slender vase with a couple colorful gerbera daisies?) Colorful table overlays also add a nice splash of color and texture.

Try to get some type of decorative "style" in mind, and sit down with your decorator. Then she should be able to offer suggestions more in tune to what you have in mind. If she still insists on tons of flowers, are there any other decorators in your area you can turn to instead?

Don't pay for something you really don't want, and don't let anyone talk you into something you don't want.

Make sure your decorator is decorating for your wedding. If you are not getting the look you want than you either have a communication problem or a personality problem with your decorator. There are a lot of ways to add color and elegance without flowers.
