Hehe thats what you say now, you might change your mind in a few years. Just curious how do you know its a boy if you are only like 11 or so weeks or did I miss something?? I thought you couldn't know that till like 18 to 20 weeks??
L.J.Aguirre

we say him because thats just what the calendar predicted for us using my age of conception and month of conception. "he" sounds a lot better than "it". so we just have "he" in our heads until the doc prooves us wrong.

so today i went in for my ultrasound. last appointment, we had to talk to the cheif of obgyn because we didn't have a due date... nothing and they were surprised so they sat us down with him. he told us they can find out the sex between 14-18 weeks earliest and usually 16 weeks is where they begin to look.
well today i went in for my ultrasound not really too amped because i thought i wouldn't find out the sex today so it was just gonna be another ultrasound. well it turns out i'm a little past 14 weeks and not 13 and we got a good look at my baby who obviously was flashing the doctor left and right. it's a boy lol. and he likes to throw fits and kicks like crazy when the doc looks at him lol his moody personality takes on after me.

Yay! A little Victor, Jr.!!! Congratulations!
lol victor is so excited when he saw his little weenie on the ultrasound yesterday. that was his first time he saw it and my second time i saw it so he was pretty giddy.
i did however have "the test".. no, not that test but the "dreaded test" where they stick the needle in your belly and into the baby's sack to test his sample. it hurt..... BAD. i cried but managed to stay still. they had to leave that needle in me for about a minute and a half and to take out 2 big viles of fluid and it was the longest minute and a half ever. even victor couldn't watch. instead he just watched my face the whole time. im just glad it's over and waiting for the results now. my tummy is a bit bruised but it's nothing i can't handle.
and i got a new due date: July 27! yay! the closer, the better! lets get this lil booger out ASAP!

THANKS EVERYONE! actually, you don't have to take the test. you can always optout like my sister. when she was preggers, they recommended that she take the test but she said no but isabel is fine and healthy. they said that test is only used in only 3% of pregnancies. the reason why they suggested i take the test is because they found 3 cysts outside the umbilical cord. 2 different doctors took a look at them and both said they don't think it'll be anything serious because it's obviously not affcting B.V. (baby victor) because he's prefectly healthy and active, ducking and dodging the ultrasound. they checked his lungs, heart beat, kidneys and liver and he's perfect right now. but they told me i can do it just to know for sure. at first i thought "no" but then they told me the test is over 90% accurate whereas a blood test is only 60% so i cried and sucked it up lol. oh yeah and they were cool cuz they never showed me the needle cuz they know i hate needles.
and yes, imo that calendar is pretty accurate. it guessed right for my niece. my brother in law is jealous because he has tried 3 times to have a boy and all times he got girls lol. victor found out he was reading the calendar wrong. had rico read it right, he would know not to hokie pokie that month. so the calendar was right for all three of his girls too. so now he's trying again..... hopefully he will get it right this time:winktongue:
That's comforting  Thank you for clearing that up

haha guys! i mean it's pretty painful but not as painful as giving birth i'm sure! :)
well i got some good news. for the past month i've been worried but trying not to stress out. they found 3 cysts on my umbilical cord which is not normal because that's something you find in women 35 and older. also when i went for my first tri screening, they had to change my due date since i was farther along as my baby obviously was showing his penis. that meant it was too late for me to do the first tri screening test. i'm a no bull type person and so i had to jump right to an amniocentesis (the needle to the belly test) to cut to the chase if anything is wrong with the baby. i got the results today. he has all 46 chromosomes so he is one happy healthy baby! so now i can sit back and enjoy my pregnancy. what a relief!
i also bought my baby shower dress today. i saved all those gifts that i got for christmas which i didn't use and exchanged them for a macys gift card. then, i used it to get my dress for a lil more than half off. the color for my party is blue and white since its a boy so i chose this blue dress and i'm getting victor a matching blue dress shirt.

lol ok ok! so i'm 5 and a half months. oh yeah and i returned that dress (it was a lil too green lol) BV is so far so good. my due date is july but i have a feeling that i'm farther along. i've been right so far. this is bv..... like a month ago so he is more developed now. he sucks his thumb now in the ultrasound. it's so cute! i have another ultrasound coming soon so i will for sure post that more recent pic. we have already made a registry and asked the 4 lucky people to be his godparents and they all were so happy. it makes me so impatient to have him. i just can't wait to play with him. he's going to be one happy baby boy:winktongue:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v280/nigga_pinay/BVAGUIRRE.jpg

so the bad part: I did have an incident where I landed on my stomach. They gave me an emergency appointment and looked at him through ultrasound. It was so sad because he wasn't moving but he had a strong HB. They told me to give it some time and the next day he was up and kicking me even hard and more frequently and he hasn't stopped since. Punishment I guess? He was probably mad at me but I told him I'm sorry and will make it up to him with some fresh warm boobie milk as soon as he comes out. I'm also getting on the big side now. Put it this way... I have a hard time shaving down there now because I can't see lol! I also have a hard time putting on socks and my belly button is starting to look like an outie. Ok he's kicking me right now as I type. I think he thinks I'm talking stuff about him haha
I'm so glad to hear that your fall didn't hurt him! I'm so excited for you :) Lookin forward to an updated pic :) :) :) :)

Ill have the doc try to get one of him sucking his thumb! He also has his dad's donkey lips. So his theme in his bedroom is eeyore the donkey and also mickey mouse and sports. One thing though... Were moving back to manteca. Does this mean I'm going to have to drive back to the bay area when I'm in labor to deliver baby vic? The reason why we want him raised in manteca is because victors family is very welcoming and excited for bv. Mine is apathetic but one of them in particular, my sister poses a threat to his safety (long story) but we are trying our hardest to keep them away from bv and even not giving them the correct due date. I'm under my moms insurance as her dependent but I'm worried that if I change hospital locations, the insurance will see it as invalid and I will get stuck paying this medical bill and those delivery bills are pretty ugly! I mean if I gotta drive there then ill do it but I prefer not to.

Yay! Update lol! Well I'm doing this through my blackberry so I won't have any pics to share. But I did a 3d ultrasound and omg he looks exactly like me and nothing like victor.... HA! But we will see once he comes out. The doc says he's estimating 3 and a half weeks left. Right now baby vic is at 6lbs 9oz... He's a lil porker and has a big head. Right now I'm feeling BAD pelvic pressure!.... BAAAAD but I'm still working full time now.... I went back to ft because I wanted as much as I could to deposit in baby vics savings that I started for him. Oh and I finished my pharmacy tech so I'm going to take the state board and then try to get in to kaiser and get some cheap insurance for baby vic. Sorry this is everywhere... I'm a wreck kinda because I'm so scared. Monday I asked about lamaze and they said I'm too far along to do it. I've been worried ever since....not quite sure how the labor will go... Not even sure if I want an epidural *bites nails*

I CANNOT believe how fast time has flown (or so it seems). 3 and a half weeks left?!? OMG girl! :)
If there's one thing I learned from my best friend who recently had her first baby it's this - you want the epidural...:winktongue: Labor will be fine. She told me every gory detail and she said it wasn't half as bad as she had made it out to be in her head.
Just focus on the positive - Baby Victor will soon be here!

Definitely not a 10, but she did have the epidural and was rather grateful for it. :) I'll have to ask her to give me a rating on that 1-10 scale. :winktongue:
The thing to remember is that women have been doing this FOREVER - and there are a lot of women out there a lot less courageous than you. YOU can get through it and it will be fine. If it was THAT bad why would women have more than one, right?!? :)

Wow time really has flown by! Glad to hear you are doing well. Wishing you a safe and healthy next 3 1/2 weeks!
I'm glad to hear everything is going fine!
As for delivery, calm yourself down chica! You don't want to stress yourself and the baby out right before delivery. First of all, there will be plenty of people there to coach you through breathing properly, telling you when to push, how to push, etc. My sister ended up getting induced in February (first delivery I've ever witnessed). She did have the epidural and she said she didn't feel a thing once it was in. Delivery itself was painless - but that's because the epidural worked like it's supposed to with her. Without the epidural, I'm not going to go into detail what I'm told it feels like.
I have another friend who had the epidural with both of her kids, and it only worked on the right side of her body, didn't phase the left. So she did a half natural, half sedated birth for both her babies. At least you know there is some relief out there if you want it. Just don't wait too long to ask for it if you do end up getting it.
Good luck! Keep yourself calm. Seriously, if you stress, the baby will stress and that will cause complications. Take good care of yourself!

This sounds stupid but I have a huge fear of needles and pointy objects. Every time I would go to kaiser for a checkup, they would mention that I'm late for my hepatitis shot and tell me to go to the lab afterwards and I'd say "okay" and just bounce. I swear I've never been poked so many times during this pregnancy and I'm still scared. That's the only thing holding me back from the epidural. Can you imagine how I was when I did the amnio? Oh man! Ill try not to stress though....untill my water breaks lol. for now I'm dealing with it by going through my days trying not to think I'm pregnant so that it doesn't come up in my head.

Just think of it this way - you won't ever see the needle for the epidural. If you ask them to hide it so you don't see it, they will. Then, it goes in your back, so you won't ever have to see it. :)
I hate needles too!

Gwen, my pep-talk with my first kid was exactly as you had stated. We were walking up to the hospital doors and I was saying over and over again, Millions of women have done this before me and have been fine! I can get through this, too! Too funny you wrote that, too.
I didn't have an epidural and I would rate the pain as an 8 out of 10. This time around, I'm excited to get the epidural and be as pain-free as possible! And don't worry about lamaze, it's pretty much useless. The nurses will talk you through it all.
Millions of women have done this before me and have been fine
That's what I keep telling myself over and over whenever I get freaked out over the idea of all the tests and dr. appointments that a pregnant woman has to go through. :)

There are two other drugs that most hospitals offer. They can be given right through your IV which you have to have anyway. I don't know they exact spelling but they are called stayidal and nubain. They don't numb you but are suppose to take the edge off.
As for pain wise, I think a lot of it has to do with what your tolerance of pain is. I took the child birth classes for my son and honestly didn't use much of the techniques I learned. Back labor (when the baby is face up instead of face down) is a lot more painful IMHO. My son was face up at first and the flipped right before delievery. And the pain wasn't as bad once he flipped. I ended up having him naturally and while it obviously hurt, it wasn't too overly horrible for me. But like i said, everyone has a different tolerance for pain.

I was OK until someone said that you have to have an IV when you're giving birth... NO THANK YOU! I am more OK with intense vaginal pain than I am with having a needle in my arm during that... It scares the **** out of me thinking of a sharp object inside of me while I'm trying to give birth. And I'm not afraid of needles...
*makes sure that we have enough contraceptives to last a long time* :innocent:
FH's mom delivered FH without medication, and then delivered his brother with an epidural, and had his youngest sister naturally because she preferred the pain of childbirth and being able to feel everything over having it taken off. So what I took from that story is that it's very painful, but not so painful that it is unendurable.
Good luck!!!! :D

IV's are different nowadays than they used to be. At least for my sister and her baby it was. What they did was inserted the needle, then inserted a soft plastic tube in place of the needle and the needle was taken out. Where my sister was they didn't leave the needle in. She said it hurt, but she didn't think about it when she was having contractions.

Don't try to calm my irrational fears with your logic! It's all psychological. I just don't want the restriction... I've given blood 11 times, it's not the needle itself, though that is the icing on this cake :wince:, but I hate not being able to move my arm, or having the attachment to my veins during the experience. I want to have freedom of movement, IDK it's pretty psychological...

so baby is here! he came on thursday. my labor started at 6am and he finally arrived at 8:23pm via emergency c-section. it was the scariest thing ever and the way that kaiser handled the birth traumatized me so much that my family is in talks of suing and i can honestly say i will never have kids again. so this is victor's first and last baby.it's a long story but anyways, we named the baby elias victor aguirre and we love him to death. he's sleeping right next to me right now. he looks nothing like me and everything like victor. he came weighing 7lbs 13oz and 20in long. here he is...

HA! i fixed it! i'm sorry for the trouble, weblady. how do i delete the other account now?
and oh god... it wasn't just a difficult labor. it was a nightmare. i will shae the details a lil later. it's a long story.
the sad part was the lil eli not only had those cysts and one of them was the size of a baseball... but he also had the cord wrapped around his neck. every time i had a contraction, his heartrate would go down dramatically because he couldnt breathe. i didnt want a c-section but i didnt want anything bad to happen to eli so i just signed it and had them drug me up big time. i saw him for a min and then knocked out. when i woke up, he was in my arms and i was being pushed on the bed back to my room.probably the best part of the night!

Congrats on your new little boy, he is beautiful! I'm sorry about the hospital problem. Having a baby is scary enough, you didn't need that extra stress, especially in labor!

He's beautiful! Congratulations!
Sorry to hear about your birth experience.
Woohooo!!! Congrats Lauren! He's adorable and I agree - he's got a TON of hair!!!
My sister's baby had the cord around her neck as well and ended up enhaling right after birth (something we didn't want her to do due to the fact that she pooped in distress inside). Complications that scared the he!! out of us but she ended up being just fine. I'm so glad to hear that baby Eli is doing better now! My sister swore she'd never have another kid for about a month - now she wants another one ;)

If it makes you feel any better, my sister's baby came out looking JUST like her, and now at 5 months old, the baby looks JUST like the daddy and hardly anything like my sister. So, you may be luckin' out with Eli :) :)
