Ok, I'm mad AGAIN...I took my ring into get it sized...well they couldn't find Eric in the computer I stood there while they went through about 5 different ways to spell VINSON (ie vincent, vinsen, vincint...) and the whole time this horrible little gnome of a woman kept asking me if I was sure he bought the ring there OMG! I have a diamond and a gold warranty on it and he has the receipt...I didn't know that I was going to the mall so of course I didn't have my guarantees with me and she kept mentioning that fact OVER AND OVER...she was so rude! I suggested searching by his telephone # or address and for some reason they still couldn't find him...so once again gnome woman scoffed and looked down her crooked nose at me (actually up..I'm 5'11) and said "if he bought the ring here he would be in the computer"...to which I replied I know for a fact where my ring came from, and if you must know you were in here the first day we came in and you were rude then and you're rude now...so I know for a FACT that this is the right store!
When we first went to the store in April the lady that was waiting on us was showing us the colorless, flawless solitaires from their special line and the gnome woman kept bringing little bitty diamonds to us (she did it 3 times before Eric, who never says *hit if he had a mouthful of it, told her that he wasn't buying me anything less than 1/2 a carat) so she finally went away...
So yesterday she pulled her snotty routine and even wrote down the wrong instructions on the receipt/work order...he bought me an 8 1/2 I wear a 7...which is my fault because I lost so much weight and told him my old ring size...at any rate I left the ring (got a receipt and told them I would bring the original receipt from the purchase and my warranties (to avoid charges for the sizing) to them today...so I did...again she was there and she made me stand there for 10 minutes while she looked over the shoulder of another sales lady who was waiting on someone else...by the time she decided to come to me she said "are you back?"...and I showed her my warranties and the receipt with his name on it and she told me that they found him in the computer after I left...she said "V-I-N-S-O-N is the way you spell it dear", I almost passed out (OMG like I WOULDN'T know how to spell my own soon te be last name) I laughed and said "yeah, that's what I said yesterday about 6 times, you were the one trying to spell it 7 different ways but the right one..."
Anyway I asked for a revised receipt that stated current size 8.5 / size to 7 so that I would be assured it wouldn't be messed up...she grabbed the receipt out of my hand and scribbled the correction on it and gave it back to me, when I asked her to initial the changes she got MAD and actually made some sort of choking sound...then scratched her initials on it and told me "we're done here, we'll call you when your ring is ready"....I just smiled real sweetly and asked to speak to the manager...
Needless to say the manager (who was the one that sold us the ring initially) was not happy and apologized profusely and assured me that the situation would be handled immediately...
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR sorry had to vent...I don't understand what her problem was and it makes me mad to know that Eric spent the kind of $$$ there that he did and we don't get any better customer service than that.

Thats horriable Ellen!! I would have asked to speak to the manager as well. That little witch deserves everything she has coming to her. I really can't understand why people like her get into the customer service field. My mom's sister is much the same way!! I hope the witch/gnome gets fired and you dont have to deal with her cr@p any longer!!

Thanks girlfriend...I don't care what they do to her as long as I don't have to deal with her again, Eric is MAD...mostly over the fact that I am having any bad experiences with something so personal and special as my ring!

Golly Ellen I'm sorry you had those problems. I guess you will not be buying anything else from them will you? I hope the manager does what she says and takes care of the gnome lady!

I'm going to cross my fingers for you and hope that the ring comes back right.
I had a battle with Zales when a stone fell out of my ring a week after I got it back (after they had it for 3 weeks to size it). What is with some of the people that work in those stores? Joe was fuming when I called and told him what had happened. We'll never buy anything from them again - I just can't wait to go and have my ring checked for the first time. :bbeek:

They have very reasonable prices and will beat their competitors prices... But the ring was purchased there and will need to be taken there for cleaning and any repair I might need...I am hoping that she will move on to her next career very soon! I don't want to cause anyone to lose a job (she could have serious health problems or some personal thing that makes her so ill natured) I just want her to leave me alone...I've had enough of her...maybe she doesn't like the way I look....hmmmmmm guess I need to take them a picture (like they requested) of us when we get married!!!:D Evidently they post pics of the married couples who got their rings at Rogers!
Thanks for commenting!

Well if you know her name, you could always call ahead of time and find out when shes not working and go then. That way you can get your ring taken care of but not have to deal with her.

Yes please do, toes too! I'm sorry you had problems at Zales...I think that they forget how they would like to be treated...and regard customers as another transaction. After she pulled her initial stunt (assuming we couldn't afford the nicer rings, and bringing us the small stones) we went to Kay's and bought my wrap and his band...the young woman that waited on us there was amazingly sweet...she worked with us for over an hour until we found what we wanted! We went to Zales but the store manager (a man) was hurrying our sales lady up (so that she could assist him with an older couple who were buying huge gold chains...) ...I think he also assumed wrong that we were just browsing and not serious about buying what we were looking at...I get furious when people assume things about someone else like that! Eric and I politely walked past him on our way out, he nodded at us and I said "thank you for letting us look we were going to purchase today but we can see how busy you are"...Eric gave me a (shush) look but there ain't no shutting me up when I get offended!

Hahahah - we did the same thing. Except it was Joe who got loud about it - it's usually me though. We were looking for wedding bands and he found something he really liked in a store. They just kept ignoring us - I know they saw us. Apparently we didn't look as though we were the spending type of something. As we exited - Joe said "They must not need the sale today!"

Lol...I've been known to do that too and Matthew always hushes me and says "There is no need to be rude!" and I always reply "I wasn't being rude, I was being truthful!!" I guess these people are AS stupid AS they look. We get that a LOT from people because we are a younger couple, but frick if we walked into a mercedes dealership they shouldn't think we're just young kids...people would be suprised to know that we could afford one!!! (Though we're REALLY NOT the type to buy one. We'd rather head over to dodge and buy a truck!! lol) We haven't had too many problems with jewelry stores, luckily! But we always have problems in high end stores....I think they also see us as country folks and they wonder what we can really afford!! I always wanna say "Honey you work in RETAIL, how can you even judge us?? You have no idea just how much money we have!!" I hate people like that, we get it a lot!!
I agree with Cindy that a call would be great, but what if you call and get the gnome on the phone?? lol. What would you do then. "Hi, *insert gnomes name here* when do you work so that I can avoid all contact with you!!" lol

DOH!(as Homer Simpson says)... Cindy you are so smart...I hadn't even thought of that! The rest of the ladies are really nice! THANKS!
I am starting to spin (pre-wedding) around in circles and can't think clearly because...OMG I'm getting married next month!!!!!!!!!!!

Eric has only done that kind of thing in front of me once and it floored me...he just is so calm about everything...he got ticked when we went to order our horse trailer...the guy was so rude and really not very interested in waiting on us...we switched sales people mid transaction...once we purchased it Eric looked the rude dood square in the eye and said "Hmm, that WOULD have been a nice commission check, huh?"

Well I got my ring back and it's perfectly fine...WHEW
The gnome was there and I whisked right past her and went to someone else...got my ring (but not before they tried to give me someone else's)! At any rate I got MY ring and got out of there without incident!
Thanks for all the posts, I'm a big baby I HATED not having my ring on!

Lol!! Glad to hear that you got your ring back and didn't let that gnome get to you first! I'm sure she's probably trying not to have to be the one to help you after she screwed up so bad and heard about it last time!! Glad you didn't let them give you the wrong ring either!! :)
