Well even though I'm new I wanted to start a journal for me and hopefully get more ideas/advice!

My FH and I have been together 9 going on 10 years. We met when I was a Sophomore in HS and he was a Soph. in College. We met through a friend and have been together ever since..well pretty much!

The first few years were a challenge! We broke up and got back together more times then I can count! I am happy though because without those breaks we wouldn't of had time to grow into the people we are today and realize even after our "breaks" we still want to be with each other!

We are originally from MD but currently living in Savannah, GA. We have moved twice in the past 2 years for his job. Although it was for good reasons I miss my family terribly and get very lonely because he works so much! being this far from family and friends is the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life! I know life isn't easy but being around family and friends always seems to make things a little easier! I love Clint with all my heart and know he is the one! he is so caring and loving and works hard for us and our animal family for now :)

We have been engaged since Nov 07. We had been ring shopping for about 2 weeks because we knew it was something we both were READY for. I wasn't expecting the way he asked me but it was cute and soooo him lol..I came home from work and he had bought the movie License To Wed. I asked him why he got that movie and he replied because he wanted to take the next step..at first i was confused so i asked next step for what??? then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was very shocked and of course I said yes!
We wanted to have our wedding in 08 but my best friend and my FH brother got married in May 08 so we figured it would be best to wait another year before having another wedding for his family! so we set our date for May 16th 09:) I'm glad because we have had plenty of time to get things together and plan for it! even though it feels liek there is sooo much more to do! UGH...

We are having our wedding back home in MD in my parents back yard then having the reception at a local fire hall about 5 mins from the ceremony! I have always dreamed of having an outdoor wedding and my parents home couldnt of been more perfect location!

My mom and MOH and best friend have been working so hard to plan everything and make sure things are going to be special! We are doing a lot of things ourselves! thank god I have a a creative family lol...i sure didn't get that passed on to me :bbeek: I'm not to picky either lol..I know I should be but to me the wedding is not about everything we have its about sharing with our family and friends a time that means so much to us! all the decorating and nice things are just a extra thing! I like everything to be plain and simple like us :)

We have 2 dogs a English Bulldog named Rosie she just turned 5 and is our pride and joy and love of our lives! She is our child! we rescued a stray a few months back a min pin named Peewee! him and rosie are good buds! I plan on having Rosie in our wedding since she means so much to us! I also have a horse named Classy that is at my parents house and I plan on having her involved with the wedding..just to take pics!

Sorry this was sort of long I want to try to keep everythign in order but knowign me that probably wont happen lol!

I'll post some pics of things I have purchased so far (well pics that i have) so far we have these things taken care of:

Ceremony/reception site
photographer
DJ
cake
centerpieces
wedding dress
BM dresses
grooms/GM suits
Invitations
Thank you cards
favors
food/drinks
chair rentals

AHH I'm sure there are things I am forgetting but I'll add them if I remember lol :)

For our reception our centerpices are going to be individualized cakes for each table! this serves two purposes! decoration and cake :) we are also having a wedding cake just not a big one! I loved this idea..my mom came up with it and she and a few other lady's will be making and decorating the cakes! the flowers in the pics are NOT the flowers that will be used to decorate the cakes for the wedding! she just picked these up at the grocery store just to play around with it! I love this idea and so glad she thought of it! we are also using old candle jars that we had saved up to add to the cake! my mom has made everything on this table other than the flowers of course lol...seh put together all the jars with ribbons and pearls!

Love the ideas so far! Your dress is beautiful!

I'm located about an hour up I-16 from Savannah, and ironically, my FH and I have been together 10 years, too! We went to high school together. I was a sophomore, and he was a junior.

Welcome to OW! I can't wait to see the rest of your plans.

Unfortunatly I dont have any pics of the programs but we decided to DIY ones :) since we are having an outdoor wedding we found a template to use to make up fan programs that can fan out into like 6 pieces with all the info on each fan! they turned out very lovely but are also very time consuming! I'll try to find the template for them!

This is what they will look like finsihed product! these are not mine just a sample! very simliar to what we are doing though

Yeah, Statesboro. We ended up moving here for school and somehow just haven't left yet. We both work at GSU, and FH owns a pet sitting business here. We're getting married back home in Augusta, though.

You haven't missed much by not coming to Statesboro. LOL There's not a whole lot here other than GSU.

For pet sitting, we stop by the home once or twice a day, typically, depending on the pet and how many times the owners would like us to come out. We feed, medicate (if needed), have playtime, go on walks, cuddle, clean litter boxes, whatever needs to be done to make sure each pet is content. We also bring in the mail/newspaper, take out the trash, water plants, and rotate lights and draperies to make it look like someone is home. We'll even send email updates with pictures if the owner wants.

How far does your pet business travel? do you just stay in the Statesboro area or do you go in different cities as well? I know Statesboro is a good drive from Savannah lol! we are hopefully moving in the next couple of months to Richmond Hill area but right now we live rigth on the savannah richmond hill line sot hats not to much of a change!

We try to stick within a 20-30 mile radius to make sure we have enough time to spend with each pet in addition to our regular (i.e., boring :)) jobs. We're hoping to one day make pet sitting a full-time job, though.

I've heard a lot about At Home Pet Sitters in Savannah, but I'm not sure if they service Richmond Hill or any other cities in the surrounding area.
