Well since I've gotten my dress now, I am on the hunt to find the bridesmaid dresses.

This is the dress that I am leaning towards (although the color is not that color in person) - it has the same broach as my wedding dress. Now my girls would like to have fuchsia dresses but since my dress has the turquoise sash I am wondering if they should be in turquoise as well. When we were at the shop and I was getting my dresses, the Davinci fuchsia looked really sharp with the turquoise sash of my dress but I am wondering if it would be too much.
Here is my dress again:

I'm just wondering if we should do turquoise dresses with the fuchsia flowers instead but like I said, that fuschia looked really nice next to my dress.
Also, is it ok if their dress is straight in the front where mine has the pickups?

Personally, I have always found pickups on both the wedding gown and the bridesmaid dresses a bit too much, so I think you'll be fine with the straight dresses. As for the colors, I'm not sure myself. :)

I'm not sure about the color either! Man, we're no help. Ha.
You saw them next to one another and I didn't - but I'm leaning toward thinking that the fuschia color might be too much. It's such an eye popping color that I'm afraid it would lead the eye away from you. I dunno...!

By any chance, is that the color of the dress in the bottom left corner of the picture of you in your dress?
I also think that style will look great with your dress.

OOh, good eye and good question!

Hmm that is a good question! Unfortunately I don't remember butwhat I am remembering is that I don't believe that is the color pink.
I am thinking that that pink is an Alfred Angelo dress and we can't go with them as they have the wrong pink. I am remembering a richer darker pink - similar to my save the dates.
Unfortunately I don't have pinks of the right color as the place didn't allow us to take pics unless you bought the dress.

Here is the Davinci color chart online - my dress ivory with that turquoise sash and the color that I'm comtemplating for the dresses is the fuchsia.

Sorry, I just remembered this thread!
What kind of setting will the wedding be and do you know yet on flowers? I think these two colors could easily go together and look GREAT!

We are getting married in an old small country church and our reception is being held at a golf course.
I'm definately planning on using these 2 colors but was curious to see if the girls should wear the turquoise like my sash or the fuchsia like they want.
For flowers I am thinking roses and lillies. I found a beautiful bouquet online with fuchsia roses and white calla lillies - it's stunning.
Also, the centerpieces are going to be fuchsia tiger lillies - already have them and they are made. See my original plans were fuchsia and chocolate brown and then I found my dress and the sash only came in turquoise, white or ivory but I didn't know that until after I had the dress on and loved it.

its hard to say. in one way i think them having turq. with you having turq. it would be a bit much.. like your dress wouldnt POP as much.. then agian, i dont know if i would love that pink next to your dress.. could drown out your colored sash too.
i do love fuschia flowers. i would say you will really have to show them to us next to eat other. i like the color combo but on a whole dress, i think i would need to see if before saying anything. whats your other color?? maybe could you go with a lighter pink or a lighter blue with fuschia flowers?
i dont know.. like i said, id be interested in seeing them next to each other.

i see above that you were originally using brown and fuschia.. you could use brown, fuschia and turq.
brown dress, turq. sash and fushia bouquets.. its just a suggestion and of course, only that !! take it or leave it.. i personally couldnt see myself having RED dresses so i wound up adding black in my color scheme :) sometimes those things happen haha

I have thought about the brown dresses as well - however - here is my problem with brown dresses, I personally prefer black tuxes over brown ones (just my opinion) and I don't care for the look of brown dresses next to black tuxes so I don't know what to do.
Guess me and the girls will have to plan a trip soon back to the bridal store...it's just so hard with the weather these days and with the bridal store being almost 2 hours away for me and my MOH (but only like 5 minutes for my bridesmaid)...

I personally think the colors would look great with each other. If it were me, I'd let them have the fuschia dresses and just incorporate a little turquoise with them...maybe in their flowers, or in their jewelry. It's going to look bold and beautiful!

I think the fuschia dresses would look pretty! My girls are wearing bright red and I'm not really worried about them detracting attention....it's all about the bride no matter what. ;)
My honest opinion is that I think it would look pretty along with your dress.

Well...you could have the sash be your something blue. You don't have to incorporate it into your wedding colors. I think the turquoise or fuchsia would look nice on the girls.

I do plan to incorporate the sash as my something blue - I was just concerned that it would look like too much going on if there were in the fuchsia and then my turquoise sash.
Thanks everyone for your opinions.

This is an over exaggeration but it gives you an idea. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h210/april4bride/thegirls.jpg

This bride's sash doesn't match her bridesmaids' dresses. I don't think it looks bad. http://images.*******.com/ImageStage/Objects/0003/0000119/large_image.jpg

Thanks again!
if you like the fuscia, and your girls like the fuscia, i say go for it!
personally, i think it might work out better if the girls aren't wearing the same shade so you don't blend into their dresses. (i'm putting my girls in black!) :)

Hmm... I like the idea of turquoise dresses to match the turquoise sash, myself. I think it will look neat and put-together.
Since the fuscia is such a warm color and warm colors tend to stand out more than cool ones like turquoise, I worry that their brightness would overpower you. Personally, I would give everyone lots of fuscia flowers to bring that color into your wedding color scheme!

This is what I am still thinking of doing. It's not even so much that I worry they will overpower me but that I'm afraid to have too much going on and having it look awkward, etc.
I have a nice pic in my planning file of the girls in turquoise dresses and fuchsia flowers and it's beautiful.
I guess another trip to the bridal store is necessary!

I think that would be just lovely, personally. I think as long as you stand out, and the bridesmaids look beautiful as a complement to you, it will all work out. I love the idea of the turquoise dress with fuschia flowers. The pop of the fuschia would just be such an eye catcher.
