I guess I will start from the very beginning...the shortened version!
I met my fiance, Jameson back in April of 2007. I was just getting out of a horrible relationship with an emotionally abusive person. I was so unhappy and had been for years but I stayed because I had no where to go (or so I thought) and I didn't want to lose my dogs. :( Eventually I decided to stop wasting my life & left the jerk.
The moment I set eyes on Jamo I knew he was the guy I was going to spend my life with. We went through a LOT the first couple of months. We had to deal with my crazy ex trying to get me back and basically stalking me, and had to deal with "friends" of ours (the couple that introduced us) trying to meddle and break us up because they decided I took up too much of Jamo's time and he no longer had time for them. Selfish! Needless to say, we are not friends with those people any longer!
Despite all the obstacles we faced at the beginning, we fell completely head over heels in love and have built a very strong relationship built on love, friendship and trust. He is the most loving, caring person I've ever met. He's everything I've ever wanted and then some!
Fast foward to October 19, 2008....
Jamo and I went down to Winterset, Iowa to visit the Bridges of Madison County. I took some pictures and we ate a little picnic lunch. After lunch, we walked over to my car and Jamo told me to turn around and told me not to peek...he had an early anniversary present for me. When he was ready he said "No don't get too excited...it isn't what you think" and handed me a Helzberg Diamond gift bag. I looked inside and there was a fortune cookie. (I love fortune cookies!) I opened it up and there were 2 fortunes inside - I love it when that happens!! I read the first fortune, it said "you will soon be honored by someone you respect" and the second said "I love you - Will you marry me!". I looked over at Jamo and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was really sweet and it meant a lot that he went out of his way to make it special so that I'd have wonderful memories and a great story to tell!
So that's our story in a nutshell. Its been so wonderful and amazing that I could write a romance novel about it, if I had the ambition to do so! :)
