Hey I live just south of Canada, and sometimes my mom has to go work up there. So she takes me along for entertainment on the 4 hour drive, and I get a free vacation out of it.

Anyways, I was thinking of taking advantage of exchange rate (it just swung in American's favor) and looking at a couple bridal stores up there. I heard there isn't a comparable store to David's Bridal, like a big chain store. But does anyone from Vancouver know of a good store(s) to check out?

I'm gunna be up there Jan 22-24, and I'm on a budget. I would love to get a $100 USD dress, but could afford a little more probably up to $750 (ABSOLUTE max)

As far as designers of inexpensive dresses go, my first thought was to look up Jessica McClintock. There are two bridal salons in Vancouver, BC that carry her dresses:

Unfortunately I am no aware of any chains like David's Bridal in Canada - which was disappointing.

Try searching bridal stores or wedding dresses at www.canada411.ca (http://www.canada411.ca) and list the area in BC that you are going to.

We-e-e-e-l-l-l...things have changed a little...I went shopping today with my mom. Just to help me get an idea of what I want to look at. And we ended up buying a dress today. I tried on 10 dresses and found the one I want. (kind of nervous that I only tried 10 on but it looks amazing and if I found it after 300 dresses I would still love it) AND I got an amazing deal!

Ok...twist my arm I'll share...It was $799, marked down to $699. Sounds good right? It gets better! It was 50% off the last marked price! So I got it for $349!! Holy COW!

I will post pics soon. I want the first time FH sees me is when I turn the corner to walk down the aisle. And my laptop is currently on time out and won't stop acting up, so I will have to wait until it can behave itself.

Looks like Canada will be for accessories and just plain fun! Still need a veil...
