Ok so here are some pics of the rough draft of our wedding programs.

The idea is that once assembled they will be wrapped with that ribbon and then a scallop shell with two pearls will be added to the front. Like so.

The question I have is getting the actual program together. FH suggested punching holes –but I vetoed that. I don’t want that.
And I can’t really do a thin ribbon/string running from top to bottom since I’ve got that other ribbon to go around the whole thing and I’m NOT cutting that out.
So I got this scotch Scrapbooker’s Glue with a 2-way applicator.

I got it specifically for the “precision tip”. The idea is that I’ll run a thin line of it down the spine of each sheet and adhere the whole thing that way.
Questions:
Anyone used this stuff?
Thoughts?
Suggestions?
Do you have any other ideas?

I would just test it out on a sample invite and see how well it works. A lot of the time with DIY invites (and everything else DIY for that matter) you just have to play around a bit and see what works best. Your invites are going to be so cute when they are finished!!! ;)

Those are beautiful.

How many pages is it? If it's the cover and then the inside page (woo for bilingual programs, btw, that is awesome) then the scrapbook stuff would be beautiful. I found this online: http://www.kk.org/cooltools/archives/002536.php It's a booklet stapler. You can get colored staples at craft places or office supply places.

Here's a more direct link, but I've never used that site so I can say nothing of its reliability: http://www.priceheist.com/product.php?co=MXB&number=HD10VDKGY

i too suggest a staple. if that glue is tugged at, undone it will become :)
staples come in differnt colors, i have seen them in this pretty ivory, it would almost make them invisible and the whole things would be more secure :)

thanks!
There are only 3 sheets counting the velum cover. That stapler is AWESOME! I may just get it to get it.

I did try out the glue and it seemed to work almost instantly! I'm letting it set just to see what the sturdiness of it is once completely dry.
I do think we have a winner though!

Check out the third line. Is it written correctly? It says: Because to love IT is to sacrifice.

Should it be: Because to love is to sacrifice?

Thank you!!
You know I re-read it all like a million times, had FH read it, and even sent it to one of my MOH and not one of us caught that!!

What about wrapping just the cover with the big ribbon and shell so people won't have to pull it off (and probably lose it!) Even if you decide to use a tiny ribbon, i would still suggest glue or a staple under it.

I like this idea... I will ponder on it
