Docsgirl's thread about her new specs got me thinking about how many of us wear glasses (poll coming).

They look good! I'm so glad we blind girls get to wear hot glasses now; not like the ugly, big, metal kind that I was subjected to in middle school!

Care to share some pics? The funny thing is ... 20 years from now you will be laughing at the glasses that you wore in 2008!

I do have contacts but to me, they are more a hassle than anything else. I need glasses to see distances and so when I am wearing contacts, I can't paint - everything is just a bit too fuzzy. When I am wearing my glasses, I can just put them on top of my head to work.

The 90's - my large glasses (and to think that these were considerably smaller than the previous pair!)

The top row is my specs from the 2000's. They broke and so I went to get another pair and ended up with two pair instead. :)

I like these ones!! (eta: that didn't work, the image). I like the last ones you have listed the best

I wear glasses for when I'm at the computer. I like them, but I've learned that looks can't be everything. When I'm looking at my computer screen, the way my head slouches, I can't see the top of the screen without lifting my head (yes okay, I'm lazy). So I will have to get larger lenses for comfort reasons when I go back in. These ones are Converse with a star on each side.... and I don't have a pic of them........ yet

I have both contacts and glasses now (my first week!) and so far I prefer wearing my contacts just because I'm used to seeing myself without glasses on. Although I did take a nap with the hubby today and forgot I had my contacts in...and they were all sorts of dried out when I woke up.

I wore glasses when I was younger; I don't remember why, but I haven't worn them in many years and don't seem to have any problems.

DH wore glasses when he was little and even had to have surgery on his eyes as a kid. I forget what he said the issue was, but he sees pretty good now.

I wear both, but I prefer my glasses. My eyes are sensitive so my contacts generally bother me quite a bit. I still wear them almost every day though! :snide:

My glasses (Oh how I miss my red hair!!)

I have worn glasses since the thirds grade. When I was in High School I switched to contacts. Currently though I am wearing my glasses all day everyday. With my sinuses lately it's just best not to wear the contacts.

I wear contacts almost all the time. Once in awhile, I will wear my glasses, but otherwise I just wear them at night or in the morning (hence the picture below)

I got glasses in the fourth grade, contacts in eighth and haven't looked back since. My eye doctor recently put me in the night and days and I love them. A lot of people I talk to, though, including FH, don't think they'd like them.

I got glasses summer 2007 but I hardly ever wear them. According to my eye doctor, I "still see good... just not AS good as before." Only time I really wear mine is if I have to drive a long trip.

Ha! I will wear my contacts for a long trip because this means I can also wear my sunglasses :)

I went ahead and splurged when I found out I was going to have to wear glasses everyday and bought a pair of RX sunglasses.

That's why i wear Reaction Lenses. They go dark in the sun. Best of both worlds and only one pair of glasses. :winktongue:

I've tried those. Mine had problems activating and deactivating, so I would wear them outside and then go into a store and they wouldn't change back for about 20 minutes. They were in that inbetween phase, it drove me nuts!!

I wear glasses all the time! As soon as I brush my teeth and wash my face I put them on. I have tried the contacs, I lost one while it was still in my eye! It takes about 10 minutes just to put one in! Fh needs glasses, he sometimes wears mine while driving at night! Our poor child (when we have one) is going to need them I'm pretty sure of it!

I totally feel your pain on that one! Fh needs glasses but wont go get them:snide: so I wouldn't doubt that any children we might one day have will need them:)

I'm about as blind as a bat...20/450 vision in one eye, 20/465 in the other.

Contacts...bug me. I've tried them a few times with no success, so I'm stuck with glasses. Not that I mind, really...I've had 17 hears to get used to them.
