My fellow One Wedder's,
First off thank you to all that have nominated me for the Best of OW 2008: Best Vendor. I like to think that the reason I was nominated is because I associate with the best. The best staff in my ministry, the best brides and grooms, the best wedding website (One Wed) and last but not least the best vendors in this great industry.
My competition is nevertheless one of the best, and just as deserving of this reward. She's the best at what she does, she's the best at being a fellow vendor in this industry. And I have a deep respect for her. But most importantly she's one I would gladly call a best friend. For when you associate with the best, you thus become one of the best.
For this reason, I am respectfully turning down the nomination for OW's Best Vendor. I could not accept it with a clear conscience knowing that I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the best people I work with and that's everyone here on OW.
Again thank you all for your nominations. It's an honor and privilege to be a vendor in the greatest industry in the world. And it's a pleasure to call all of you friends.

First off, I think we should clear up what we mean by best vendor in the context of this contest ... it is more about the best vendor member that contributes to the community without being spammy and all ;)

So in that respect you deserve the nomination just as much as Elizabeth does. We appreciate you both as well as a few other vendors that could have been nominated (like saltyveruca and a couple others) who are actually here as a part of the community and not just out to advertise.

You can bow out if you want, but we don't want you to feel like we don't appreciate you being here or that you are not worthy or something.

I understood what the context fully meant, when I conceded. Maybe I worded my speach wrong.
Out of deep respect for my fellow vendor, I just could not accept the reward if I won. IMO she's deserves it just as much as I do, that's why I dropped out.
Plus just knowing how much I'm apreciated on the boards and the friends I have here is reward enough for me.

EDIT: This whole thing is just for fun; sure some of the more regular posters are bound to be singled out with the nominees and all. But I hope no one feels left out or unappreciated!

A community is only as good as its members and I am glad we have such great ones! Those nominated or not, I am proud the be associated with a group of such great people!

Ok I give. But I still mean what I said. Just being associated with everyone on here is reward enough. And don't get me wrong, I apreciated being nominated, I just wouldn't been able to accept the honors knowing how great Liz is and deserving of it if I won.
Plus remember last year, I got a big head.
