I dont know if it is possible so it a question/comment/suggestion
many have worried about people stumbling upon their journal (you know google vana and mike and mmy journal comes up!) and seeing their dress and stuff so my question is.. is there ANY way to do a password protection or some sort of PRIVATE for the journals. like only members or members with over 100 posts or something can see them (unless otherwise authorized) i dont know if its possible. it just a question

We can restrict posting to the journals, but anyone can see it unless we make the whole journal forum private and create a special usergroup for it. Not sure if that is really feasible ... let me look into it.

OK, so changing the journals is not something we really want to do. So this will remain public just like the rest of the site. We have always advised everyone to be careful what they post.
However, we will have a new blog type option available on the main site soon. This will be able to be password protected; if all goes well it should be ready to go sometime in late January or early February.

That's cool - a password protected blog would be awesome. I haven't done a journal because I was afraid of who would stumble upon it! :)
I would love to have the journals password protected, too!! I have thought of this on many occasions. I mean, who wants your wedding guests knowing about your wedding before it happens??
That, and I have a FSIL from HELL and if she EVER saw my journal she would get to know who the bms were, who the groomsmen were, what was going-on, etc... and she would complain about every aspect at every turn, before it even happened. For this reason, I could easily see me not posting certain pics and/or giving good info on the honeymoon, etc... just because I don't want to encite jealousy/make her mad.
I suppose I'll be glad when the blogs are available ~ then I'll quit journaling. But, will the blogs offer the chance to post pics in them???

Our board has always been public and we have always advised people not to post things too personal or too detailed if they don't want anyone to ever happen upon it.
