What do you think of this? holiday treats...

For the past few weeks my friends and I have been doing secret Santas. The first gift was to be free/homemade, the second $1 or less, and the final $5 or less. We've been sneaking around delivering the first two gifts to each other, and we're revealing the final gift at our friend's holiday party this Saturday.

He wants us each to bring a holiday treat. So I thought I'd made some chocolate dipped pretzel rods, like this:

Now, the possibly weird part is that I want to sprinkle them in colored sugar and salt. I figure they already are a salty/sweet snack, and salty chocolate is becoming popular (http://www.chow.com/stories/10502).

So, kinda odd but you'd try it or gross? (I mean the part about sprinkling them with sugar and a bit of salt.)

My opinion, gross. They're already part salty, anyway.

I am particularly sensitive to salt though, so maybe I'm not the best judge here!

I'm not sure how I feel about the extra salt if they're already salted. But hey, I would do a trial run and see how it works.

Just to clarify, I was thinking mostly sugar, with a touch of salt. Maybe 1 part salt to 3 parts sugar.

Try doing one of each. I have to agree with the other girls though.. I'm not sure if it'd be good with extra salt. But ya never know, which is why you should try it out at least once.

It's not really feasible for me to try just a couple before this weekend, so I will probably just ditch the salt idea. I bought white chocolate and will just drizzle them with that and maybe put a bit of sugar on the white chocolate drizzles to look like frosty snow. :)

I love chocolate covered pretzels, but I wouldn't put more salt on them.

I bought this one the other day that had caramel and tiny chocolate chips on it and it was SO good! I am gonna make some myself!

I love the combo of sweet and salty, and I'm terrible and salt EVERYTHING way too much. So I probably would like the extra salt, but I know not everyone does :)

I love Chocolate covered pretzels, and just had some the other day in fact, dipped in chocolate then crushed oreos (here at Downtown Disney they have a candy store that does them custom)
