Okay so this not totally a DIY picture but I just thought I would share, my sister & her hubby got married two weeks ago. Above is a picture my uncle took of them cutting their cake. Anyway the DIY part is the unity candle in the back ground. Yes we rented the candle holder but the candles themselve s I bought plain from the dollar tree and painted gold trim and their last Initial, M, on it. We were sitting around the night before and I remembered horrifyingly that we'd bought the candles months before but they were still sitting in my room in the shopping bags. So I went and grabbed them and dug around in my mom's craft stuff til I found some gold glitter paint. Maybe if you click on the pic it will get bigger and you can see the candle better. Jsut wanted to share b/c I was so proud.

They look very nice when you click the picture. Your swirling lines are so even, mine would be all over the place.

Lilypad~ I was as surprised as you, I kept trying to use a stencil (paper wrapped around the candle) bt I painted it twice and the paper kept peeling the paint off once it dried so I finally just free handed it and said well if anyone aside form the bride has any complaints, tough!:)

KMS~ Thanks! I was glad it worked out and she had a nice candle (if I do say so myself:)
