View Full Version : Buying new wedding band, maybe
I'm sure some of you remember my oh so sad story of losing my wedding band. Well, yesterday Chad tells me that he wants to make a detour while we were spending the day together Christmas shopping. Next thing I know we are pulling into Jared, where he purchased my e-ring and both of our bands. He wants to buy me a new band for Christmas. We looked around a little bit and tried on some rings. Then the salesman put a ring on my finger, I look down, and it's my ring. It took me by surprise and I almost started crying.
I just have this mental black against buying a new ring, knowing that I'm going to find mine. Silly, I know. :ooh: I also feel guilty spending any more money on a ring! :icon_barbar: The whole situation is just so frustrating, but it's so sweet that Chad wants to get me a new ring. He's just been so great about the whole thing.

Well that is nice that Chad wants you to have a new ring since you lost yours.
Maybe if you get the new ring and you do happen to find your other ring one day then you can try to sell one of them.

Awww...I know how you feeel. I'm sentimental like that too...If you find your first band later on, Maybe save it for your daughter/son...Or use it to make another peice of jewelry with it.

Sweet Chad :) You deserve another band.
My mom lost a diamond pendant while she was shopping. She was beside herself because my Dad had cancer and this loss was just the "icing on the cake" at the time.
My Dad went out and bought her another .... someone called from a store to tell her that they had found her pendant .... so then she had two. My Dad told her to give me one and to keep her original.
So ... if your original band does shows up, you could just stick the newer band away to give to (perhaps) your future daughter (or son to wear as a pinky ring). I guarantee you that it will hold a special place in his/her heart.
Thanks for your support guys! I am going to keep my eye open for other rings that I might like, but if nothing strikes my fancy I suppose I will get a duplicate of my original. I do love it so! I could definitely save it for a future child or create another piece of jewelry with it if I should happen to find my first one. Ahhh, we'll see.
This weekend I was in Chad's sister's wedding and when the preacher was talking about the promise and significance of the ring I got a little teary eyed. I looked out into the first row at Chad and he was laughing at me. :icon_barbar: LOL; brat.

I have to admit, that was kinda funny. I really want you to find your ORIGINAL ring! Ugh!
Yeah, afterwards I laughed at myself! :D
Maybe all of these positive vibes will bring my ring back into my life. ;)

That's so sweet of Chad to want to buy you another ring. Love the ring story from your SIL's wedding. That would so be FH, laughing at me and all...
Of course, I'm still sending good vibes for the original ring to turn up!

Ok, I remember reading the story about your ring when you lost it, and I have to admit, I agree with NOTKT, I want you to find it too!!! But that is really sweet of Chad to want you to get a new one. Don't feel bad, I would totally get teary eyed not being able to find mine too!
