I have been going back and forth about favors since May and just can't decide. We had planned to do personalized guitar picks since FH is a bass player and many of our friends are musicians, as well. But I know that other than friends, no one would really use the picks. So it kind of seems like a waste of money when over half the guests would not actually get use out of it or possibly know what it is without asking.
The other day I saw orgami fortune cookies with a vellum strip with names and date printed on it. I thought this would be a neat favor. If they want to keep it they can and otherwise they aren't throwing away something that cost too much.
Has anyone else done this or seen it done? Just wondering if this would be an okay favor?

Just found this post.
I think it would be a cute idea!
Though even if you did SOME guitar picks may 25% of the original number for those that would really appreciate it and understand WHY you decided on pick?
I dunno I like throwing stuff out there.

Sounds like a neat idea although I've never seen it done before.
However, I really like the idea of the guitar pics! It has a meaning to you and FH.
We are thinking of golf themed favors - balls, matchbooks with tees, etc. and we understand that maybe only a bunch of people will actually use them but I think people will appreciate it since FH is an avid golfer.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

wow guitar picks sound awesome!! what a good idea. I've never seen oragami fortune cookies, and I know you were going for something that can be held on to afterwards but we're doing real fortune cookies as favors at my wedding, you can order them with your own sayings inside and they're pretty affordable (plus anything edible is good with me!) we're going to put them in little takeout boxes we got really cheap, so cute!

I saw the chocolate dipped fortune cookies in a catalog I got the other day, after already buying all the paper for the others and making m&m favors or I would do real ones. I've been working on the paper cookies, but they are really frustrating. It turned into a mess of glue and paper clips trying to get the silly things to stay together.

Ooh where did you get the fortune cookies. We are giving fortune cookies to all our guests (as that is how FH proposed to me).
