View Full Version : Charting Temps

I had a very big scare yesterday morning. I've been tracking my daily temperatures since September. So that's three full months of charts. I was making my December chart yesterday (clearing out November's information) and I accidentally clicked "Save" instead of "Save As." OMG. I cleared out all of Novembers information and had a melt down! I need to show the doctor these charts as proof that I'm not ovulating! Well, my DH came over and worked for an hour and downloaded some program and I was able to reconstruct November's chart. I am extremely thankful for my computer-genius hubby!

I need to schedule an appointment next month to have my fallopian tubes x-rayed. I could've done it this month, but thought I better wait until January because this procedure isn't covered under insurance and I started an Health Savings Account through my employer. That kicks in January 1st. It's a $1300 procedure to make sure my fallopian tubes are clear. If they are, then DH will have his sperm tested to make sure that's okay. Hopefully I'll be getting my Clomid prescription next month!! Clomid tricks your body into dropping those eggs!

Just wanted to give you a heads up. The dye that they inject while x-raying your tubes can make you throw up once you stand up.
the clomid is not fun either. The mood swings you will experience are to the extremes. Also multiple eggs are released in some cases. Twins, Triplets, Quads are the norm with Clomid.

Thanks for the heads up. I've never spoken to anyone who has had the x-ray or taken Clomid. I wouldn't mind twins, but hopefully not triplets or more! My mom is a twin, so I'm not sure if I have a greater chance of having them or my children do.

I already have an 11 year-old son, so I'm actually surprised I have to go through this much work to have another one! :)

Most of the fertility treatments aren't that bad but endometrial biopsy and the hystocephogram (x-ray of the tubes) are. Good luck.

Thank goodness he was able to get it back for you. Good luck at the Dr. Just curious how long had you been trying before the Dr. decided to look into it further?

We've been trying since our honeymoon (first week in June) and I started tracking my ovulation in September. I had my first doctor's appointment mid-October and only had one "official" non-ovulation cycle. She said to track through the end of November and then call to schedule that HPG exam (the fallopian tube/dye x-ray) if I still hadn't ovulated. I think she's not making me wait a whole year because I have the facts backing up my lack of ovulation and I'm 32 year's old. I've been off of birth control since February and I should have been ovulating by now, she said. So we'll see where this takes me!

Well good luck, hopefully everything turns out ok with you x-ray and you can go from there.

I stopped taking birth control in september and still not back to normal, I Have a dr. appointment in two weeks, I think the only reason she agreed to see me is because I have had brown spotting for almost 3 weeks now (sorry TMI).

Just wanted to add some more Good Luck to your efforts!

Hope everything works out for you both.:)

We did the charting method and found it very helpful. Hopefully your doctor is receptive to reviewing them with you.

My tubes are open! :) I'll have to call the doctor's office on Monday, but I'm pretty sure I'll be getting my prescription for Clomid, since both DH and I checked out just fine!

The pain wasn't too bad with my HSG, just a really bad period cramp is how I'd describe it. It went away about 20 minutes after the exam. I also felt a little nauseous afterwards, but that passed in about 20 minutes, too.

Thank you all for your well wishes! I'll let you know when I pick up my prescription!!!

Yeah! I'm so glad your tubes are open and there is no scaring. That is half the battle. Just a heads up if you are sensitive to medications Clomid can knock you for a loop. Hot flashes, mood swings, PMS like you wouldn't believe. I hope everything works out for you and your husband. Now the fun starts cause you are trying to get pregnant!
