I've seen a few others on here, so I thought I would post mine. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Oh, and FH did help :o

Looks really good! I like the pattern on the black...good choice over flat/plain black.

Does having cupcakes really save over a smaller wedding cake? My mom suggested it, and I'm not 100% sold...yet.

I made it with foam core board and then I used a hot glue gun to glue the fabric and ribbon around the foam core board. It was pretty easy, but took about 5 hours to make.

We've ordered 120 cupcakes as of right now and it's only costing us around $350. They arent small cupcakes either... they are pretty big. Also, I just love cupcakes, so in a way I always knew I wanted them instead of a cake.

I also prefer the idea of cupcakes, but I'll also be getting a very small cake just for the two of us, for pictures and stuff. If you make your own cupcakes or order from somewhere like a grocery store it's much cheaper than ordering from an upscale bakery. For my wedding with 200 guests, DIY cost is less than $50, ordering from my local grocery store's bakery is less than $200, while ordering a cake from an upscale baker might have cost as much as $600-700.
