Well, I always wanted to get married outside...but not when it was tooo hot...so I always said I would go with April or September (which in Michigan may be tooo hot or frezzing cold anyways). Well FH birthday is in April, along with Easter, his Grandpa's B-day, my brother and neices b-days, etc. etc. etc. So we wnet with September. Our original date was Sept. 8, 2006, so that we had a better chance at the warmer weather, but when we finally found the perfect venue....they were booked for that day. The had teh week before, but that's my brother's anniversary, so we went with the week after.

we picked our date, which was may 21st, simply because we had picked a date in june but half of my family had chosen that date to take my daughter on a surprise vacation, so we had to choose a date in which everyone of my family was either off work and not planning a vacation. it was actually the 4th date we chose. one time the pastor was going on vacation herself for two weeks which led to choosing another date. but in the end we loved the date we chose.

I simply looked at the calender, knew when I would have the money for the wedding, and said ehy how about June 10th. He said sounds good what ever you want honey. I hear this all the time lol. If I would have given it more thought I would have made it a couple of weeks later. That date is the start of bike week here where I live so having family here before heading home is gonna be crazy cause traffic will be insane. But we are leaving town too so it shouldnt be to bad. Except coming back to town because the weekend we come home is the BIG weekend of bike week so the traffic coming into town will be worse. And my daughter will be missing some school because doesnt let out for the summer untill the week AFTER out vacation. But all is good. It has worked out and she is only in the first grade and she will be there for the last 3 or 4 days of school so she wont miss anything fun.

Mark and i wanted to wait until i was done school. We felt like the first two weekends in May was too close to me finishing school. Plus one weekend was his grammies birthday. And she was alive at the time. But he was scared she would pass away before the wedding date (which she unfortunetly did). The 3rd weekend was the Victoria Day Long weekend and alot of people would have to give up their holidays at the cottage to come. The 4th weekend (this weekend) was his parents anniversary but since they divorced we thought that would be a bad idea. So the first available weekend is next weekend. June 3rd. I love the spring before it starts getting miserably hot here. It would be before my families string of summer birthdays would begin as well. So that's pretty much it! :D
How did you pick yours Amber?

Jason and I picked our date because that was the same time that our first baby was due, unfortunatley I miscarried in January. We had no real plans to get married anytime soon but with the surprise pregnancy and the devestation of the miscarriage it just seemed so right to do it then. Also, we can always remember Septemeber as a happy time...for what could have been and what had become...

We both love the fall colors, so we knew the time of year we wanted. September was the begining of school so I didn't want to do it that month. My little sister starts college this year so I wanted to give her some time to adjust. October seemed like the best month. I love odd numbered days (don't know why, just do!) so it was either the 7th or the 21st. Steve picked the 7th since it is 1 year and 1 day after he asked me to marry him.

Good topic :D
We picked our wedding date because I wanted to get married as close to our 'dating' anniversary as possible. It ended up only 3 days off since the actual date was on a Monday.
Aside from that, I wanted to get married in the Spring.

When Brian proposed to me the 1st time (without the ring) it was during a full moon in August. We were laying on a blanket later looking at the stars and we talked about having a moonlit wedding ceremony. We pulled up a calendar and looked for full moon on weekends. There was one the next month in September (too soon) then another in January (still too soon). The next two on weekends were May 13, 2006 or March of 1007. March was too far off so we went with May 13th. We didnt get to have the ceremony we originally discussed but we kept the date.

We chose the date August 18th 2007 because it fall on our 5 year anniversary. When I looked at the calender and saw it was a saturday I didn't bother looking at any other date.

I looked at a calender and saw that I would have July 4th off then looked at the previous Saturdays and I was off the 24th of June so I figured that would be perfect since I could take my vacation all the way until the 5th of July.
Nothing really special for the date, just when I could get the most days off for vacation!

Originally, we were going to be married June 24 of this year for various family reasons, but when we went to reserve our site, it was discovered that June 24 was not available, so we opted for July 21 because it was a date that was available. I wish there was more to it, but there isn't....:D

We chose ours because we wanted it to be in the snow, Feb 16th will be a 2 years exactly to when we first visited Innsbruck and stood up on the mountains and both said 'we'll get married here one day' and laughed. Feb is a good time tourist wise (not too many) and the wedding planner recommended the friday, so i suppose it was one fo those 'meant to be' things.

Amber818 agrees: I think Spring is so beautiful...was your wedding outside, Brandi?
No, not outside ... it was in our living-room ;)

We picked July 16th for our families and because we were at the Calgary stampede having the time of our lives and decided we wanted to get married on that exact day a year later! July 16th worked well too because my mom orignally thought she could have the time off of work. Well her boss told her no, that they had a flier drop that weekend, my mom told her to stuff herself! There was no way she was making me change my wedding date. My DH's family are farmers and this time of year they were finally finished seeding their 4000 plus acres and would have a little time off before having to start spraying. (pesticides) So we picked the date and stuck to it. My DH's uncle wanted us to change it so he could come but my DH's brother did that for his wedding and then the uncle didn't even come so we weren't about to go through the same.

I wish there was a romantic story behind our date - 2/17/07. I've always wanted a winter wedding. December and January are toooooo crazy with the holidays, so we discussed February. When I called the church to see when we could use the sanctuary and the fellowship hall, we had two choices - 2/3 or 2/17. We had to plan around the Lenten dinners and the Lions Sausage and Pancake breakfast....lol. I asked Joe which date he preferred, he didn't care, so I picked the 17th.

Sean and I knew we didn't want to get married in summer because we both hate the heat and Pittsburgh is so **** humid that it is ridiculous. So June through September were out. We also knew that we didn't want to get married in winter because Pittsburgh winters are long and cold and miserable. So that took care of November through March. So that left April, May, and October. Since we got engaged in February of 05 waiting until October of 06 was too long. April holds mine, my mother, and my mother in laws birthdays and Sean's sister's anniversary. Plus it is usually pretty wet in Pittsburgh. So that left May. I always wanted a spring wedding anyway. We went witht he last weekend because the later in May you go in our area the better the weather can be. Also being a holiday weekend it gave guests an extra day to travel.

Mine was for no special reason either (August 19). I wanted it to be in the summer. August just seemed right. Also, FH said we had to move our anniversary. My birthday, which is also our dating anniversary, is 4 days before Christmas. He said I needed to move one of them. :D My son's birthday is August 10 so I wanted to wait until after that.

LOL Stacy...Eric and I picked our wedding date due to horse shows! Also, not at all romantic! We couldn't have it in June due to our World Show and he was very CONCERNED about July because normally we have 2 or 3 during July. I even had to make sure that the honeymoon wasn't going to be during a show...but we both show so it was just as much me as it was him!:o
August was his 1st marriage month and September was too long a wait due to my lease being up! His family is very old fashioned and us living together before the wedding was a big no no...although I lived with my ex for 3 years before we got married....
At any rate....JULY 29TH!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH I AM SO EXCITED!
