Lucky enough it wasn't the SS Gift. But something i ordered off eBay.

Lucky You ask? Well hear this.

DH asked Me what i wanted for Christmas so i said a New Kitchen for My next Dolls House Project. One came up on eBay at half price so i clicked the "Buy It Now" button.

Today i got home from work to find a note on the doormat. The parcel had arrived. But because i wasn't there to sign for it i tried to find a contact number to arrange delivery.

Tho and behold. On the back of the card was a hand written note.

"Parcel Left Over Back Fence" Now bear in mind My fence is 6ft tall.

I went into the Garden to find the parcel. It had "FRAGILE" written all over it. And not only that, it was laying in a Two Inch deep puddle from hours of rain since last night. 8 FEET away from the fence. :bbeek: So it had obviously been thrown over with no regard for the "Fragile" contents.
I picked it up hoping and praying it wasn't SS because i'd hate for something to reach the UK from "Wherever" only to get smashed to pieces by some Twat with a White Van.

There was no need to open the box because the cardboard just fell apart in My hands. Dripping i brought it into the house to find the Kitchen for My Dolls House wrapped well in bubble wrap and intact. :bbeek:

I still phoned up the courier service and gave them a piece of My mind. I threw a lot of "Herebys" and "Therefores" at the twat on the phone. And they have promised to compensate Me for the damage. And give a full postal refund to the sender.

RESULT!!!!!

Now i just have to decorate the Dolls House ready to "Move In".

Grrrrr! When I was shipping for my day job, I once had a box left on someone's doorstep and it was stolen! $1000.00 worth of goods gone. I contacted the courier company and I was told that it was my fault for shipping the package via via ground (ie the most economical method). When something is shipped this way, it's up to the discretion of the carrier whether to leave it or not. They figure that he knows his route and so, he can judge best as to whether to leave it or not. :snide::snide:

So I asked how I could avoid this happening and I was told that I had to use "signature required" - ie we'll ship it for you and leave it on the doorstep if we see fit (but we are not responsible should it get stolen) and if you want to make absolutely, positively sure that it arrives in the hand of the recipient, you will have to pay more. Figures.

Ugh, the postal service! :icon_barbar:

I can't believe they literally threw the "fragile" box over the fence. Wow.

I got an email from the eBayer i bought from. Seems like there's a huge problem with the Depot. I wasn't sure what Depot delivered because there's a North and South. But it turns out they buggered it up last week too.

They said they delivered to the address and left it on the Porch. Turns out it never arrived. And the Lady who's goods it was doesn't even have a Porch!! :bbeek:

To add to My Parcel. They should have asked for a Signature. I suppose the Delivery Guy signed M.Mouse or D.Duck and hoped no one noticed.
But i have a tracking number so they can find out who it was and kick His Arse on My behalf. :winktongue:

You get 'em Mitch.

You remind me of a little chihuahua.

Little dog, but they sure can scare the daylights out of the big dogs.

That's horrible! I don't know how people can be irresponsible. I'm glad you called them. :)

I'm glad you gave them a piece of your mind, Mitch! My gosh, what if it was broken. Thrown over a fence? That would make me want to pitch the person who delivered it over the fence and ask them how it felt! Grrr....
