Hey so I know everyone out there has their quirks....I just wanna know what are those quirks about the future spouses that just boggle your mind and at the same time it makes you smile.
For example, my fiance hates mustard. I think it's totally bizarre, but I know it's him...

I hate mustard too. It's soooo gross!

My FH hates pineapple. I'm not sure why, but he can't stand it. I, on the other hand, LOVE pineapple!

Greg hates mushrooms (he saw a "mushroom farm" before and knows what they are harvested in... don't ask!)

Doug HATES mustard...whenever I eat it, he says I must be a turd. lol

A couple of quirks I guess. He loves hot food, the spicier the better! Gives him hiccups and you can see the sweat dripping off of him but he still eats it! At the same time, hates jalapenos.
He also loves any "this is how you make this" programs, which at times I think is totally useless, things like, how licorice is made, how glass is made, how machine guns are made. Drives me crazy until someone asks me a question I can't answer, then I call him and he knows the answer about 95% of the time.
Oh I can go on and on... do we want to keep them clean or deep down and dirty quirks? LOL
Matt puts Ketchup on EVERYTHING. He has a shirt that says "I put Ketchup on my Ketchup" - and HE DOES. I can spend hours making this beautiful yummy meal, and he'll go and ruin it and smother it in ketchup. Oh it irks me, but I'm getting to that "whatever" stage.
Matt will be telling me something, like how to do something, or who said what, and I can say "I know" (and finish his sentence for him most of the time), and he'll just keep telling me like I didn't even say anything.

Oh we do this one also! It is possibly my least favorite thing about FH. Sometimes I feel like he thinks I don't have a brain in my head, then I realize he does it to everyone.

Thank God I'm not the only one that has to suffer through this LOL. I would have to say, it's the perfect size finger for my Irritated Trigger

FH comes from a loud family, and if FIL or FBIL are talking you have to yell to interrupt them or you will NEVER be heard. So, out of habit I guess FH talks really loud sometimes and I hate it. It's awkward at like, dinners with people and stuff lol. Sometimes we'll be in the car and I'll jump when he starts talking because it's just so loud. He CAN talk normally... like to have a conversation. But if he starts telling a story he gets progressively louder because at his house you'll have people interrupting you halfway with their own story, so I think it's just a natural thing for him. Blah.

Oh. Dear. God. I hate when my husband does that. Why do they get so loud when telling a story? And why do they "change" their voices when they're talking to certain people??????!!!!!!!!!!
I always tell DH he has a different voice around me, his co-workers, family, and friends. He doesn't believe me....oh well. :irked: I still think he's the "man of many voices"...haha!

Haha, these are really funny!
DH is always fidgeting. He's plays with all of the equipment in the doctor's office, twirls my rings around with his thumb while we're holding hands, piles unusual rocks and twigs on top of my leg while we're watching the sun set on the beach... He never sits still!

The only thing I can think of at the moment is that no matter what food I love... he hates.
I love strawberries, all berries, I have a sweet tooth, mushrooms, spinach, etc. and those are all things he CANNOT stand.

Won't eat tomato anything. Ketchup, pasta sauce, sliced, diced - no matter how they come, he won't touch them. Drives me crazy, especially since tomatoes are pretty much the ONE staple of my diet. I eat them all day long, for every meal.

FH does this thing every time he gets changed from one shirt to another. Instead of taking off shirt #1 then putting on shirt #2, he "prepares" shirt #2 but pretending to put it on, then putting it gently in position on the bed (so that all he'll have to do is pick it up and drop it over his head and it'll fall correctly) and THEN take off his first shirt.
Also, I'm a go-go-go type person. Every time he drives somewhere, we have to sit in the car for a minute before he drives so he can collect himself. He's not a nervous person or anything, I think he's more just settling in. BUt we'll both be sitting there silent, not moving, and in my mind I'll be thinking "lets go! lets go!"

FH comments on things going on around him. Loudly. JUST loud enough that people around us can hear. Not things like “Aw that’s a cute baby” or “Looks like someone’s tired!” (things we would normally say). No. He says the things that you think about, maybe say quietly to the person beside you, but not loud enough for people to hear. Nothing hurtful… he doesn’t like, make fun of people. I can’t even think of an example. I’ll make one up. :) Say we’re at a restaurant. Across the restaurant, a server drops a tray full of food. He’s the loud guy who pipes up and says “Ouch, that’s coming off his paycheck!” or “Ooh, bad luck!”… just loud enough that people turn and look at us. Like, the unnecessary comments, the ones that draw more attention to an already unfortunate situation.
At a car show once, there was a car there with a huge dent in it. Instead of commenting, at normal conversation volume to me, he says loud enough so that EVERYONE around us hears it “Wow, that’s s****ty!” And then keeps walking, while people are looking at us, then to the car that he drew everyone’s attention to. I don’t know if it’s just me, but sometimes, it’s embarrassing. It’s like my own peanut gallery.

DH loves and eats hot foods too. When I see him sweat like that I wonder what the attraction could possibly be.
He hates tomatoes on their own but will eat them in a sandwich but pick them out of a salad????
He will buy a can of spinach from time to time, crack it open, heat it in the microwave and eat it just like that - ick!
I didn't notice this when we first got together but he doesn't seem to eat all foods at the same time. Example ... if there is steak, carrots and potatoes on his plate - he will eat all the potatoes, then move onto the carrots and then finally the steak.
Me? I will tend to eat the most expensive thing first so that if I get full, I won't feel badly tossing out the least expensive item (like rice or potatoes). With that said, I will still nibble on all throughout the meal.
My quirk ... I am a control freak, like Rachel on friends. Everything has a place and everything should be in it's place. Also, DH cannot do any kind of job without me making some sort of suggestion <<<<<< I get that from my mother. She is QUEEN of "May I make a suggestion?" which actually means "Do it MY way".
Not sure this falls under the "quirky" heading but I noticed the other night that when we get ready for bed, DH takes off his pants first and then his shirt. I take off my shirt and then my pants

I do something similar. Only it's frozen spinach. When I'm feeling homesick or I'm just in the mood for it, I get a bag pf frozen spinach, thaw & drain, and saute with onions and tomatoes.

Frozen spinach is sooo different than canned. That does sound yummy - onions/tomatoes/spinach sautee'd!!

Growing up we didn't do canned anything. I'm still a bit of a canned food snob, though I make an exception with canned tomatoes (since they're allowed to ripen before canned as opposed to being harvested and allowed to ripen during transport) and canned pinto beans (because I love refried beans, but HATE the smell of beans boiling -YUCK).

Lets see.....
I think my biggest quirk of his is: I willl do all the laundry and fold everything in there different piles and put them on his side of the bed so he can just put them away. Instead he puts them on the floor, ALWAYS! Drives me nuts.
Also, he has a motorcycle, there is a spot in the closet for his helmet. Any time he takes the bike out, he leaves the helmet and gloves right on the kitchen counter! It never fails and it will stay there for days on end until I put it away or say something lol. I tell him Im gonna make a vase out of it next time.
And he collects everything!!!! We work together at a transfer station (garbage dump) and he is always bringing something home! I dont understand what the hell he needs that **** for! Its useless and It drives me nuts lol.
I think thats about it lol

LOL I do this too and then I tell him that I am running a social experiment. He now knows that this means that he has left something out/has not put something away and I am timing him to see how many days it will take him to put it away (if he ever does). The trick is ... I won't tell him what it is and so, he runs around the place putting most anything and everything away

I'm kind of compulsive when it comes to cleaning...I'm what one would call a stress cleaner. When I'm stressed cleaning helps me forget what's been freaking me out and gets rid of clutter and dirt, so winner both ways.
Anyways, fiance was NOT like that when I met him. He would do the basics but you could tell the was a little more that could be done.
I'm so glad I'm rubbing off on him. He use to be able to ignore the dishes for at least a week, now just a day's worth in there bugs him. It's great! I keep reminding him how great it is that I'm rubbing off on him, he keeps swearing it's not!

I've recently realized that I am also a "stress cleaner." When I get anxious or aggravated, I start viciously cleaning my house.....like...vacuuming and swiffering everything......scrubbing countertops.....chucking all of DH's junkmail that he leaves on top of the microwave.....UGH! :hothead:

I don't know, I just don't like my food to touch and I don't like it to mix. I usually eat the food in order of how strong a flavor is so that I don't end up missing out on something I like because I can't get the taste of something else out of my mouth.

I really REALLY get annoyed when i'm doing something (like on the computer) and Steve is HAS to say something like 'Well, shouldn't you do this now' and won't shut up about it. GRR! Let me sit in peace for a bit, will you?! lol
He also likes to talk about how the cats are mine and not his, and all this other stuff.. then i come home to him loving on them. haha. <3

Hmmm his food does touch .... but I am going to have to watch him now to see if his choices have anything to do with flavour :)
Thanks to this thread, I've been looking for quirks *doh*
One that has bothered me from the start, is that my when my hubby brushes his teeth, he gets toothpaste/foam EVERYWHERE: in his beard, on the counter, all over the place - then he wipes his face with the towel before rinsing the toothpaste off his face, and then I can't use the towel because there's globs of toothpaste/foam on it. Not only that, he tries to tackle me or kiss me when he's all toothpasty - I only find it funny when he STOPS before he gets me.

OH, I usually think so too. We have numerous pics of him when we would be hanging out, of him passed out. Probably funniest of him passed out while sitting at the table and it looked like he was praying. Lol.
And I got back at him for snoring during my show by actually sticking a mic under his nose for a moment. LOL

LOL. Scott knows that he snores. Funny thing is, I'm so used to it now, when I went away to Israel a few years ago without him, I had hard time sleeping at first because I missed his snoring besides me.
Oh, I thought of another quirk. He has to have coffee in the morning to become human. Before coffee, he resembles a bear. Even his coworkers know. They stay outta his way first thing when he gets into work in the morning until he got his coffee. There was a couple of times when his coworker even brough a huge cup of coffee and set it on his bench before he got in to work. I think it was actually when I was gone to Israel for a month, cause he was grouchy that entire month (something about North Israel being bombed by Lebannon during that time didn't appeal to him). LOL
