Yep, we're having Thanksgiving dinner on the trail tonight. We're going camping with a bunch of friends and their families, and we're having the works! Fried turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, etc etc etc. I'm in charge of appetizers, so I'm going all out. I needed something that would be okay cold, so I took some salami and wrapped cheese and pepperoncinis in it and stuck toothpicks through them to hold them together. Also used olives instead of the peppers on some of them. I made piggies in a blanket using crescents and lil-smokies. AND with the left over smokies I've got the crock pot going here at work with the smokies in bbq sauce.

So I'm excited! We're leaving work at noon, heading to the bank, home to pack up and hopefully we'll be on the road by 1:30. Dinner's supposed to be around 4, and it's about 2 hours away :whoohoo:

Well, Matt and I got out of the house around 3pm on Friday, and everyone ate at 4:15. We got there right after the food was put away LOL! But they pulled it out so that we could eat. I brought the appetizers that ended up being all day Saturday's snacks - worked out perfectly.

We went on a night wheelin trip on Friday night, where 2 of the 3 rigs broke. One had to drive back in 2WD because he blew up his front differential (easier said than done because we were at the other end of the trail from camp), the other one busted the front universal joint so he only had 3WD. It was COLD! But SO much fun- deffinitely the beginning of a tradition!
