Just taking a second between cooking and taking care of a very sick husband to wish everyone a great day. Happy Thanksgiving.

I am taking a break between cooking and feeling a little sick myself (allergies and a leftover migraine from yesterday with a little nausea and lightheadedness); I hope to be better before we have to head out.

Hope your hubby feels better!

Happy Thanksgiving all you Americans!!

I asked FH last night, and he didn't know the answer... why do Canada and the US celebrate T-day at different times?

I did a quick search and found this -

Happy Canada Thanksgiving
In Canada Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday in October. Unlike the American tradition of remembering Pilgrims and settling in the New World, Canadians give thanks for a successful harvest. The harvest season falls earlier in Canada compared to the United States due to the simple fact that Canada is further north.

The UK doesn't do Thanksgiving at anytime of year.

I do check the "Hatch, Match and Dispatch" in the Newspaper every Thursday. If i'm not in the Dispatch bit, then i'm totally thankful

Hope everyone is having a great day!

I made a turkey and we had late lunch with DH's family; then I stopped in to see my parents for a minute, but didn't stay for dinner.

DH and I are going to put our tree up tonight and grill out some steaks.

I will check in later with some pics :D

FH and I are unfortunately not having a very jolly day here at home by ourselves, but hope everyone else is enjoying their Thanksgiving!

How was everyone's Thanksgiving? I ended up cooking practically the whole meal. This is because fmil, who has had a lot of health problems lately, had to be driven to the blood lab by ffil to have her Coumadin levels checked. The whole thing took hours. So I roasted the turkey, made stuffing from scratch, made cranberry sauce from scratch, made cornbread from scratch, made banana bread from a mix, and cooked fresh green beans. I also peeled the potatoes and cut up the butternut squash for fmil because she's on all sorts of blood thinners and we don't want her to bleed. When she got home from having her blood drawn, she cooked the potatoes and squash. She also made stuffing from a box, opened up a couple cans of cranberry sauce. Ffil opened up a can of peas and a can of corn, and made a salad. In the end, everyone loved my food much better than the boxed/canned stuff.

I forgot to add that I also made homemade gravy.
