DH works 12+ hour days. Seven days a week. He gets home. Switches on the TV. Which turns on really loud. :bbeek: He has a cup of coffee and His dinner. Then puts Football (Soccer) or Darts on.
What's He do next? He promptly falls asleep laying on the remote control. So here i am, stuck with boring sport screaming it's head off from the corner of the room. I can't turn the TV over (or down). He's a complete dead weight when He's asleep.
It's no good. I'm going to have to either get up off My arse and turn the TV off. Or train the Cat to do it for Me.
Oh bugger!! The Cat's asleep too.
Anyone got a big stick LMAO

My mom has to deal with something like this. Dad falls asleep in the recliner with his finger on the buttons so Mom can't change anything. She has been living with this for about 30 years ever since Dad got a TV with a remote. They have been married for 52 years. I don't think it ever gets any better.

Hehe.....Maybe right before he "looks" like he's going to fall asleep, try and sneak the remote to the coffee table or something so he won't fall asleep on top of it? LOL It's worth a try hehe

Or you could move him... lol If my FH is on the remote I roll him off of it. He'll go right back to sleep if he even wakes up at all. Or if he loses the remote, we do have a second one. It is shaped like a game controller and we got it for free. Only problem is it has no PVR button, so I can't watch anything recorded or pause/rewind anything. He's always losing the remote because he'll take it with him when he goes to the bedroom/bathroom!!/kitchen/etc and he'll set it down, or stick in his pocket then change his clothes. He's silly.

 Oh my that is funny, probably because I deal with the same thing!
Except, FH will work long days just like your DH. Will sit in his "man chair" and fall asleep flipping channels. Then, he will land on something (obviously not knowing what is it) and I start watching it and before you know it, he is changing the channels in his sleep. So I yell at him and say I was watching that and pry the remote out of his hand! MEN!

That's what I do too. Men are completely adaptable and are able to fall back asleep within 3.2 seconds of being stirred.

Haha, that reminds me of my grandpa. He has the worst taste in tv and he'll sit forever flipping the channels and usually ends up on some horrible western movie that was made when like, my mom was a kid. Two minutes in, and he's asleep with the remote on his lap. If you try and take it he wakes up and yanks it from you, then promptly falls back asleep! It's super annoying. Fortunately FH and I are pretty good about deciding what to watch together. Well, so far!
