So I work at Costco....and if you don't know what that is, it's like a Sam's Club, or BJ's.......only better.

And let me tell you this time of year, if you (and when I say you, I mean the entire human population), could avoid Costco. That would be amazing! Today was rather H-E-double hockey sticks-ish!

If you do feel you need to go to Costco...please have patience. Many warehouses only have 18 registers, 2 people in photo, 5 people in membership, and only so many products on the floor...please be patient. Our employees get breaks, lunches, and often times work checking over 50 members an hour and 25 items a minute. If you think about that that is almost a member a minute, and one item scanned every 2 seconds. Please make a trip to your local Safeway/Albertson's/QFC/Fred Meyer's/Target/or any other store purchase $400 in groceries and see if they can check you out that fast...

I'm sorry I had a bad day, I want Costco to make money, and I do like our members but today I learned patience. Or kind of learned patience. I swear my building was sucked in a black hole that took in all normalcy and started spewing randomness...

We don't have a Costco in my town, but I always feel bad for people who work in retail during the holidays. People can be CRAZY!

We have a costco about 1/2 mile down our street, and another 1/4 mile down is Sams Club :D I totally understand your pain. Yesterday I was at the Pharmacy and a lady (customer) snapped at the pharmacy tech, then started getting mad at the pharmacy tech saying that the tech was out of line and rude. The lady then proceded to talk about how terrible of a person that pharmacy tech was - simply because her meds weren't ready yet. She went on for like 15 minutes to the customers and to other pharmacy techs, and insisted on reporting the tech to the manager.

There were about 40 people in line, and another 10 sitting in chairs. I totally felt bad for that tech. I was up next and got the same tech. I was nice to her, told her to hang in there, and wanted SO BAD to say something to that RUDE woman, but she looked like she would have decked me. I'm a big girl - 5'11/215, and that woman could have taken me on. So, I opted out - although I'm kinda regretting it now.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand, hang in there!! Some people just don't really give a **** who they hurt or piss off as long as they get what they want when they want it.

And then of course there are the moochers who are only there for their free meal. I used to work at La Gourmet Chef and of course we have out samples of all the dips and chips and pretzels we sell. And the "cows" would come through and graze.:cloppy: Something for nothing aggravates me like nothing else. Eons ago I sold perfume and cosmetics and the people who would request samples each week instead of buying something would drive me crazy. We had a do not hand out to these people list with photos.

Deep breath hang in there and I promise to be good if I have to go to Costco.

Everything customer service sucks this time of year. People can be just appalling. I work in retail management, so trust me, I feel your pain! I had a customer throw his 10 year old shoe at me because it was falling apart (after 10 years!) and I wouldn't give him a refund. 10 years, people!
But my least favourite of all rude people are those who go to the ER instead of the Dr for their minor maladies, then complain about the wait. Particularly since there are like 8 different doctors surgeries that are open until midnight and bulk bill here.
Last week I was in hosptial for something pretty serious. I went to my Dr, who flipped out and sent me straight to the ER. I walked in, presented, and was called straight in. A woman actually got up and blocked the doorway so that I couldn't pass because she "Had been waiting for FOUR HOURS! And it wasn't FAAAAAIR!"
Um, you have gastro and I had a blood clot. I'm pretty sure I win, cow features.
Security actually had to move her out of my way. She literally could not understand that people are called in based on the seriousness of their condition, not how long they had been waiting.
People suck at the best of times, but for some reason the holiday season really brings out the worst in them! :icon_barbar:
