waiting for my dress!

I thought about posting this on the vents board, but it's more of a whine :-P

I ordered my dress in early August. It's not due in until mid-December to late-January, but I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO anxious!!! I keep having dreams (some good, some bad) about getting my dress in and trying it on and all... I never thought I would be SOOO into the dress part, but I'm just so excited!!!

Believe you me, the minute they call me to tell me it's in.. I'll be flying to the bridal store :-P

I hear you! I ordered my dress the first week of JUNE and called the other day (because 5 and a half months seemed reasonable) and they said it was due in at the end of December. That's sooooo long!

To add to my anxiety, I've never seen this dress in real life - only on the internet - they didn't carry it in the store and I didn't feel like hunting it down, so I just had them order it - sight unseen (in real life at least...). I'm hoping it'll at least look semi-decent on me! :)

I'll be flying to the bridal store too...

I'm in a bit of a different situation.. my dress is at the shop... but I can't actually take it til I pay for the rest of it. So I'm looking forward to when we have the money to finish paying for it... and when I go get measured and have the fittings and all that.

I definitely agree about it being exciting to think about. :)

I'm somewhat in the same boat. I saw mine in person, but it was about 8 sizes too small, so I couldn't actually try it on. It really makes me nervous.

But like me, I'm sure you tried on enough other dresses to have a pretty good idea of whether or not the one you bought will look good on you or not, am I right?

And to all others, I think Gwen and I will be flying just as fast to take pictures to show :)

Nobody anticipates this as much as my mother though - she thinks I'm a crazy fool. I've always just relied on instinct and have always made decisions on everything rather quickly. This is not the first time I've thrown all my eggs in one basket, with caution hurled to the wind. :winktongue:

When I called in September to see if it was in the lady waited until Maggie Sottero's office was open in Australia to call me back to tell me she ordered it. I was so ticked. It's supposed to be in in December. I'm betting they rush ordered it to try and cover up their screw up. So we shall wait together lol!

Omg! I can't believe they FORGOT to order it!!!! Thank god you have a lot of time before your wedding - that could have been a BIG problem if your wedding was sooner!

Yes I am getting very anxious.They said that Maggie Sottero made the dress when in reality it was from the Sottero & Midgley line. Imagine my freak out when I couldn't find the dress on the Maggie Sottero website! :bbeek:I wasn't able to take pictures so I'm praying to god they ordered the right dress. I'll find out when they ship it to me. I bought it at a bridal salon six hours away from me while I was visiting my sister. If it comes in close to New Years I might just pick it up while I'm visiting my sister. In the mean time I'm hoping and praying I fell in love with the right dress.

OMG, ME TOO!

My dress is set to arrive this week! I'm so nervous, but I could not stop thinking about this dress, and no one here carried it. I based my girls' dresses and our wedding colors on my dress, so I couldn't change it.
