So I was making the bed today after washing the sheets and realized it was about time for new pillows. DH likes the standard pillow while I like the sort of fluffy ones.

So what do you like?

Poll coming ;)

Considering all the parts of my environment I'm picky about, I'm surprised that I'm about equally satisfied with just about any kind of pillow and any kind of mattress.

We both just get the standard hypoallergenic VOC free pillows, but I always need a replacement before him because I tend to like mine on the fluffy side while he could probably sleep on a pancake.

I like those pillows with the gel stuff in them, can't remember the brand though. I remember getting them on sale for a good price one time ($16/each I think??) and now I will never buy anything different!

We paid $1700 for our queen mattress, but that's something I wouldn't skimp on, considering I have back issues.

Are these pricier than a plain, standard pillow? I'm really working on getting chemicals out of the house.

So far the best pillow in the world that I've found is, believe it or not, the $2 blue-and-white striped one from the Evil Empire.

I like the medium fluffy hypoallergenic ones at Target. I *hate* pillows that are supposedly high-end and made of actual goose down but that disappear under you when you put your head down and squish to a size that's thinner than a pancake and about as hard as a brick. Like the ones that you always get at hotels.

Give me a nice non-squishy, fake pillow every time.

I've been trying to get Fiance to give up his 20 year old pillows since we moved in together. They are GROSS and so flat I can't believe he can still sleep on them! I put new pillows on our Target registry!

Funny you bring this up because we've been whining about our pillows a lot lately. I actually told my mom (when asked what I wanted for Christmas) a Bed Bath & Beyond gift card so I could buy us new pillows!

Ours are waaaaaaay to hard. We want something fluffier. :)

I have a tempur-pedic pillow, and I loooooove it! I take it with me wherever I travel. :)

We payed about $70 for each of our organic cotton ones. We're about to need to replace mine though and I don't know if we can afford it this time. As much sleep as I get, I hate to think of what I'm breathing in when my nose is all smooshed up against my pillow if it's all filled with chemicals and stuff. :ooh:

I like firm pillows. DH likes the ones that are so flat and flimsy that they don't even do anything.

Adn when I told him I put four new pillows (two for our room and two for the guest room) on our registry he freaked out! He said well what am I supposed to do with my pillows? I was thinking, throw them away, burn 'em,lol
but I just told him I dont know....I guess we'll see how you like the new ones:)

Firm and flat for me. I sleep on my stomach, so anything higher hurts my neck and anything fluffier smothers me. And it has to be fake, not down. I don't like feathers poking me in the face.

Nice fluffy Duckdown feather pillows for Us. :)

I love down pillows, if they're not too thick and my face doesn't get suffocated in them.

And a good down pillow shouldn't poke! I've had cheap feather pillows and blankets and they are quite poke-y, but the down is soft.

I've had my pillow ever since I was a little girl. I call it my "squishy". LOL It's pretty flat by now, but it's so soft and has a certain smell (not a bad one!) that has always comforted me. I sleep with another regular pillow under it because it's so flattened out. My hubby tries stealing it all the time. Most of the time I just scoot over and we both sleep on it.
