I am trying to find corsages...both mothers (mine and his) will be wearing them and then I will also have 4 more "smaller ones" (3 young ladies helping with the guestbook, bubbles, programs) and 1 for the wedding coordinator.
I just read that "usually the mother's corsages match their dresses"...my mother is wearing a lilac dress and my FMIL...hmmm your guess is as good as mine...my flowers are red roses I will have the 4 smaller ones made out of red roses but what should I do about the mothers?
Any help would be appreciated!

I've never heard of the mother's corsages matching their dress. Hmmm.

I don't know what the standard is on this subject, but we are not going with the matching corsage/dress thing. We have a certain color corsage we are going with, and we didn't match our dresses to these colors. It just so happens that my dress is black so it will match anything.

I've never heard that the mother's corsages should match their dresses either. Mom just did the corsages the other night for me - they're burgundy/red roses with white roses and winter berries - they match all of the other flowers.

You could ask them what color they are wearing. But what we did was we got all the women white flowers. White goes with anything right? lol. Both our mom's were wearing a shade of blue, so the white flower worked perfectly. Then my grandma was wear pink, my other gran wore a floral print (it looked horriable in pictures! My photographer told me to avoid floral prints and pictures that woudl have flowers as a back ground...I guess they're are too busy and one color is bolder and stands out better.) anyhow, the white flowers didn't "clash" with any of the ladies dresses.

Thanks girls....I was on a wedding flower site and I saw that note...I just wanted to make sure...I am going with the red/white roses for all of them!
I am ordering pew bows and corsages TODAY to avoid the repeat of my FMIL and the "BAD BOUQUET BUSINESS" (she made my bouqets and they were horrible)!
My MOH (my sister) suggested that I (with her help) get this stuff ordered and over with so that I wouldn't have to deal with more DIY projects gone bad!
I know this belong in the VENTS forum...sorry!
THANKS AGAIN YALL!

I've never heard that you are supposed to match the corsage to the dresses. I am already planning on doing that. But i have never heard of it. Each couple will have matching flowers that co-ordinate with the colours the mom's are wearing. That way it identifies which parent is with who.

W my family, you can't mistake who my mom belongs to. We are pretty much the same height, and she resembles me. haha. J's mom on the other hand, it about 3 feet shorter than he is!!!

My mother and I both giggle when we get nervous so she'll be easy to identify...his mom cries so just look for the smeared eye makeup!

That is funny. My mom will be pretty smudged too!!!!!! It will be hilarious. She cried, and squeeled in a pitch that cant be heard by humans when I told her he proposed.

More identify Mark's step parents and who they are with. His dad and wife will wear white roses, his mom and step dad will wear yellow roses and my parents will wear hot pink roses. That's what i ment by identifying who belongs to who. Not alot of my family has met either of Mark's sides same with our friends.

I had never heard that before until, my florist asked me if I wanted to get corsages to match our mothers dresses...
I wasn't sure at the time, but now I think I will get them all the same,
it will be burgandy roses and a orange mini calla lilly, maybe with a few leaves in there.
