Other than diamonds, what are your favorite gemstones?

Well, diamonds aren't even one of my favorite which is why my ring has a colored center stone. I LOVE colored gemstones; I think they are so magical. Ones I think are particularly magical: emeralds and rubies.

Amethyst is special to me because it's my birthstone. I also love mystic topaz. Sapphires have the coolest name, but I actually don't like the dark blue so much as I like magenta sapphires. And I actually think yellow diamonds and sapphires are really neat.

Fun fact: Rubies are red sapphires, they just have their own name.

Me; I am not a huge fan of gemstone jewelry and don't have any really. I have one bracelet I wear all the time that has a few tiny diamonds in it.

I like purple amethyst (hubby's birthstone), black onyx, hematite, and Tahitian black pearls. My birthstone is topaz and I don't like it.

I love diamonds, but I'm really a fan of some of the colored varieties... I love chocolate diamonds, and pink and canary *drool*

I love sapphires, as it's DH's birthstone (and they're just plain gorgeous)

And I do love emeralds (my own birthstone)... BUT, a true GOOD quality emerald is such a rare thing -- natural ones are so fragile and often cloudy or have internal fractures, so I will probably never own one (if we spent the money to get me a really good one, I'd be too terrified to wear it! LOL)

Yellow sapphire are my favorite, since yellow is my favorite color.

Rubies, obviously, since they are in my engagement ring. And I like blue sapphires as well.

My favorites-not including diamonds-are rubies, emeralds, and sapphires.
I have always loved rubies because they are my birthstone, but just recently realized how much I like emeralds and sapphires! They're just so pretty!

I love Emeralds. They are my birthstone. The chinese used to say that the bubbles and fractures inside were gardens. I have one in a ring from Colombia. I don't wear it very often but I always get complements. Ex husband gave it to me so I feel weird wearing it.

I love yellow and blue diamonds, and pink and blue sapphires.

I used to have a 3 carat ocean blue topaz (pear shaped) that I had set in a white gold band. One day I looked down at my hand and the stone was gone. :bbredface: The color was so beautiful though, almost like a sapphire.

Opals ... I love opals! :) Pearls too although they aren't really considered a gemstone are they?

My favourite gemstone is peridot. Love that shade of green. I also love opals (my birthstone).

I love peridot, which is my birthstone. I have a peridot ring that Jon got for me for Christmas a few years ago. I love it.

Other than diamonds, I would have to say alexandrite because it is one of my birthstones. My other birthstone, the pearl, I have never really been a fan of.

They have a GORGEOUS yellow sapphire stone (.59 carat) or so? at the Shane Company for $90.00! I bought the ice blue sapphire, but was torn between the two. I bet you would LOVE It! :)

I love all gemstones I think! HEHE I mean they are all so beautiful. The only stones I own are my lovely diamond and an ice blue sapphire. You all have beautiful stones BTW! ;)

Have all of you sapphire fans looked at The Natural Sapphire Company's site? We got my engagement ring there! The people are really nice and the stones are untreated! I thought the prices are quite reasonable, too. :)

My birthstone is amethyst, but I prefer blue topaz. I've never seen anything with blue sapphire... I'll have to look into that. I'd probably like that, too.

Princess Dianas Engagement Ring with Prince Charles was a Blue Sapphire.
