I started a new job today with a clothing store... it's been a year and a half since I've worked since I was taking care of my dad. I am not used to being on my feet, today was only my second day and I only had a 4 hour shift and my feet are SCREAMING! Now I do have a very high arch on my foot and have actually gone to the Dr. for it... I did have custom made inserts but I wore them out. I need to find some kind of shoe or insert that actually works... I've been home for two hours and my feet are still killing me!
So those of you that work on your feet, what works for you? I bought some insteps but they just don't work and I need to find something for tomorrow !

The Dr. Scholls gell in-steps have always worked for me. I work all day in heels. I suppose everyone's feet are different though. Can you maybe buy a different pair of shoes instead?

Yeah, I was going to suggest something like this.
Or if it is the dress code just wear a more comfortable type shoe.
All the best!

When I worked retail I always wore Clark's. Yes they are expensive but so worth it.

i stand on my feet 8-9 hours a day. I wear really good tennis shoes or i wear the clark or eastman shoes those are comfy for me also.
i also bought inserts and wear those sometimes but i found if i bought a good pair of tennis shoes with good support in them they work also.

I also have a very high arch and very sensitive feet - my best suggestion is to wear flat shoes. Sometimes it blows, but my feet thank me for it at the end of the day. :)
Unfortunately, I recommend new shoes.... My feet usually hurt when I wear cheap tennis shoes. I mean, not just a little arch pain, but my whole foot up my calf HURTS!!! I have to wear flat shoes (no arch support) and even still I have problems. I hope you find something that works for you without too much hassle!

I have very flat feet so they might not work as well for you but the Dr. Scholls knee pain relief inserts save my life. I am a server at a restaurant and am required to wear these really uncomfortable shoes while running up and down the stairs carrying food...yes someone designed a restaurant with stairs in the dinning room :snide: . But anyways those inserts are the only reason I can keep going and I completely recommend them to anyone.
