"Happy Birthday" threads?

I tried to word this without sounding petty and childish, but I can’t. Why is it that I didn’t get a “Happy Birthday Jenna5366” thread started on my birthday? :( I logged in, all excited to find it, but there was nothing. I thought maybe it was a tradition that was stopped, but I see other people got them since then. My birthday is in my profile, so I figured it would be known?

Sorry for this “poor me” post, but it was actually something that really disappointed me. :bbredface:

I think they get all of the birthdays from the calendar entries (click the link next to "New Posts")...I'm sorry you didn't get one, though!

The happy birthday threads are something the mods and I (and other members post them sometimes too) try to keep up with, but sometimes it is hard to catch them all :sorry:

I do remember you posting something about you having a sucky birthday (http://forums.onewed.com/showthread.php?t=21857) and people had posted happy birthday wishes in that thread. Maybe it was thought that was enough :ooh:

Happy Birthday!!! :) I felt the same way when I put my entire wedding journal together with a BUNCH of pics. and not 1 person responded to it :( Then, there was even a post made about how people are all burned out on wedding stuff, and don't care to read the journals anymore. :( So sad.....

Not everyone is going to read and/or reply to every post on the board. It is certainly not a personal thing; the journals are just sometimes hard to keep up with. If you want a quick reply to something, it is probably better to post about it in one of the general community forums.

Hang in there chica! I didn't get one either... and I did notice. I thought it was simply because I didn't put my birthday on the calendar. I saw your "sucky birthday" thread, I don't remember if I replied to it, but I read it!

I thought it was simply because I didn't put my birthday on the calendar.Yeah, you have to either put it on the calendar and/or set your profile to show your age and birthday and it will automatically be on the calendar on that day. However it won't show in the upcoming events unless you add it manually.

But sometimes things may still get missed; we are trying to keep up with birthdays better, but you all can help too ... if you see a birthday, feel free to post about it. My general rules is that if the person hasn't posted for more than a month I won't bother mentioning it.

I'm sorry that you feel this way. Onewed prides itself with how our members are treated. I'm sure that after having such a horrible birthday it wasn't much fun coming on here to find that you didn't have a thread saying Happy Birthday. Soo, Please accept our apologies...And, if it makes you feel any better, my birthday in July went un noticed :)

I never got a thread either [my birthday was on Monday] but I was fine with it. But next year if it happens again... lol jk.

Huh. I don't think I got a b-day thread either. But in my case, I assumed that I had done something wrong! Very Freudian of me, no?

In any case, now that I know how to use the calendar thing, I have put both our wedding and my 2009 birthday on there! No excuses for next year!! LOL!!
