My 10-year high school reunion is next year and I haven't heard about any plans for a reunion. I went to a private school and my class was about 50 students. There were cliques and our class didn't get along as a whole. I probably won't go to the reunion (if there is one), but I'd like to see pictures to see what everyone looks like.

Tell us about your high school reunion. Did it go well? And for those who haven't been, are you going, and if not, why?

I believe there has been 2 reunions (5 and 10 year) from my HS class as well as a get together party I heard about. I didn't have any interests in going to them and won't go to anything in the future.

I didn't have many friends in HS and the ones that were my friends I have pretty much lost touch with. I still do emails and/or check in through MySpace with a couple of them though.

I guess it is interesting to hear about people I knew and what they are doing now, but I don't need to go to a reunion for that.

I have had two reunions also, neither of which I attended. After I heard the talk from the first one, I realized that I may have been one of the few who actually matured after graduation.

Apparently there were binge drinking, hot tubs, so and so hooking up with so and so, bff fighting, cheating and the whole works.

I don't call that a good time, and any one from high school that was that important to me I see regulary so I didn't feel any need to go, and definately won't be going in the future.

(I will admit to snooping on my space and seeing what everyone's up to though) :nosey:

Most of the people i went to school with are either Dead, In Prison, Or tied down with numerous Kids and Grandchildren. :bbeek:

My first Senior school closed down 25 years ago (Yes, I'm that old lol) to become the towns college. We all got split into seven other schools for the last two years and lost touch with each other. Although i did meet up with a Girl from school after 17 years. And the first words She said to Me was "Yep Mitch, You was right. Your band is still together and Mine split up" (I was an AC/DC fan at school. She was into Culture Club)

In the UK We have "Friends Reunited" online. And a load of people from school are on that. So now and again i'll get an e-mail from the past saying Hi.

It would be good to get everyone from the year together. Just to mark the 25 Years and the fact We all reach 40 this year and next.

Maybe there's something organised on Friends Reunited. I haven't been there for a while.

I was homeschooled so my HS reunion happens all the time with my siblings! However, my FH went to a small private school, about 20 people in his class! He keeps contact with the guys, but I think they'll be having a 5 year reunion and we'll go to that. I knew them all really well so I try to keep updated with them, but I think it would be fun to go to a reunion. They shared so many good and bad times together because of what a small class it was, it's hard to abandon that.

I can't wait to go to my reunion in 2010! I'm still in touch with a lot of people from high school but I don't get to see them very often. I've pretty much been looking forward to it since they day I graduated, lol. I loved high school and the people I went there with (well, most of them, lol). There were about 250 or so in our graduating class. Pretty much everyone I talk to regularly from high school plans on attending.

I think our class's 10 year reunion will be in 2010. I haven't heard any plans for a reunion yet. But I would go if I got an invitation. I had some close friends in highschool a few I still keep in contact with, although we're not as close as we used to be. But it would just be nice to check in and see how everyones doing and how their lives have progressed. Not to mention a little gratification if some of the snotty kids are not all they were cracked up to be in highschool. Petty I know, lol, so sue me!

I'm haven't been to one and have no intention on ever going to one. I had a miserable childhood, adolescence, and teenage years. My freshman, sophomore, and junior years I spent at a private special ed school where I was miserable and had no friends. My senior year was spent at public school, which was a little, but not much, better. If there was an award for the most despised kid in the class, I would've won that award. The only thing that really made public school better than SPED school was that my teachers didn't go rifling through my backpack looking for uneaten sandwiches. I'd really just like to block high school out.

10 years passed, then 15, now we're approaching 20 years and sadly, my class has not had a reunion. I really only keep in regular contact with one person from highschool anyway, but I would probably go if we had one. I'm slowly finding people through Facebook or Myspace so who knows. Maybe we'll get our act together!

My class had 100 kids in it, and a lot of us have recently met up through MySpace and Facebook. Our 15-year reunion is going to be next June and I'm on the planning committee. We had a 5-year which was sparsely attended, so we're hoping to get a better turnout with this one. I think it's fun to catch up with everyone as my HS experience was pretty good. I wasn't popular, but I wasn't an outcast, either.

I missed my 10th cause I was living in California. The 20th was a dinner cruse (can you say old fuddy duddies before their time) I just went to my 30th. Everyone was saying how I still look just like I did back in High School. I'm 100 lbs heavier I think they all need glasses! LOL
I was a loner back in school cause I was skinny, wore braces and glasses and was scared of my shadow.
Totally different person now. Finally figured out life is to short to be afraid of my own shadow. I had fun shocking everyone.

I will probably go to my ten year high school reunion. We were a small class from a small town so most of us were pretty close. There are several people that I keep in touch with and others that would be nice to see. There are some people that I'm just curious to see how they turned out! I've also changed a ton from high school and it would also be interesting to see how others react.

My high school only has 20 or 25-year reunions, I'm not sure which. I didn't really like most people in high school, and had a huge falling out with my friends at the end of high school, so I don't really care to go to meet up with old friends. I will go when mine comes up though, because I want to see how people ended up. I'm just nosey.

I have been out of school for 17 years, have kept in touch with one person (BF since kindergarden) and that is about it. Her parents live in the small town we grew up in other than that, I don't know those people. I have not been to the reunions, nor do I plan on going to.

I went to my 5 yr. I went to a private school that does a HUGE alumni weekend every April. Every Alumni of the school is welcome, but every year there are different years honored. I will be going back for my 10 year for sure, and maybe even sooner - since it's only 2 hours away

Oh nooooooo. High school was an icky time. When I was IN high school I always said I would go out into the world and make something of myself and go back for a reunion and SHOW THEM what I had become.

But now that I've gone out into the world and made something of myself I don't care to rub it in their faces. So I skipped the reunion and intend to skip the ones to come. I guess we grow up and decide it's not worth it!

Well, 2009 is only five years for me and I don't even know if my school does 5-yr reunions. I graduated with 830 people so it seems like a lot of work to do for 5 years, lol. I still keep in contact with a handful of people on facebook and there are a couple I still see in person. I always hated prom and homecoming dancings because there were SO MANY people and I hate crowds, so I don't know how I'd handle a reunion.

I would go to a reunion... I am so nosey.

Me too! My high school was really clique-y and we definitely didn't get along as one class (I graduated with 300-some people), but with my group of friends I had SO much fun.

I was overweight and had no style so now that I'm fit and think I'm fairly stylish I HAVE to go back ;)

My 10 yr would be in 2011 but I don't know if there will be one.

I was homeschooled so my HS reunion happens all the time with my siblings!

I was homeschooled too..practically my whole life. My brother, who's 2 years younger than me graduated HS with me also..I was 17, he was 15.
We did however graduate with fellow homeschoolers in our church, it was a class of about 8 people. (very smaaaall) lol.
Don't think we'll have a reunion, but it's not really that big of a deal to me.
Perhaps because I wasn't exposed to the whole social aspect of public/private high school.

Our 5 year reunion was last summer. They went to a bowling alley first, then to a bar. Some of my friends and I showed up at the bar around 1:00am. There were still quite a few people there. It was all the popular people who are still as snooty as ever. Except for one girl who maybe talked to me one or less times during high school... who came up and hugged me and started asking about my boyfriend (who's now my fiance).

I don't think I'll go to the ten year one. I get enough of seeing what people are up to on facebook. Plus, like some people have said... anyone who I cared to keep in contact with after high school, I did.

I have to say it was cool that the cheerleaders were heavier. The cool guys that never paid me any attention were bald. The Jocks were fat and bald. the only ones who came out on the good side were those of us who were the geeks, dweebs and nerds back in school. There is justice after all.

I had guys paying attention to me that back in school never would even grunt. Back then I was 5ft 8in 98 lbs on graduation night and still had the braces. Now I've got back, boobs, and still look good for 50. There is a God and he is merciful. LOL

Go have fun ignore the ones who still think it's all about them and take pictures so you can sit back and laugh how everyone has changed. I even got up on the dance floor and did the hustle. Never would have caught me dead doing that back in high school.

Here we are 48 years old and still kicking

Since I just graduated in 2006, I absolutely will not and refuse to go to my reunion. The only good thing that came out of high school was I met FH. In fact, I even graduated a semester early and haven't looked back since!!!

Upon thinking about it, I think if I had gone to a large school I would go to my 10 or 20 year reunion, if nothing else for a morbid curiosity to see how everyone was doing. I think its fascinating to watch how people "turned out" since we grow and change so much throughout our lives.

My 5 year is next week and I am certainly not attending. 10 year....maybe. People don't change enough in 5 years for me to waste my time going to this one. Plus I have a lot going on in my life right now, I'd rather spend my free time doing more important things.

We didn't just do a class reunion. Since the school turned 50, we decided to do an all inclusive school/faculty/staff reunion. Not only did I go but I instigated and then ended up chairing the whole thing.

We had about 2000 attendees and it was a weekend event. There were opening ceremonies, complete with dignitaries, where we opened a time capsule and listened to speeches of former principals. I also had to give a speech - eeeek! I am still shaking over it.

We had a golf tournament, satellite reunions for each class, a dance, an alumni variety show, a basketball games, hockey games, kiddy blow up games, a jazz lounge, classrooms were decorated per year and we even had a plane fly over the school to take an arial shot of us on the football field.

Heheheh - this was our sorry attempt to form a 50. I am that little pink spec up the top of the 5 near the white tarp.

NOpe, I won't go to mine. I wasn't really friends with anyone in my grade. I was friends with people either a year older or a year younger. I really don't care to go back and catch up with people I never talk to to begin with.

Our reunion was cancelled!!! Hardly no one responded to it or seemed interested, so the girl that was planning everything got really frustrated and everything got cancelled. I guess my class wasnt too interested. It kind of sucks becuase it would have been good to see what everyone has done with there lives!!

My high school class was awesome, but I don't think I can bring myself to fly to Oregon to see them all. Most of my friends have gotten advanced degrees and have gone on to do great things with their lives... they are research scientists, lawyers, college professors, psychologists, even a doctor!

Meanwhile, I'm working my cute little butt off finishing up a degree at my local community college (I had to pay my own way through, unlike them. Must be nice to have rich parents). I probably won't have my bachelor's degree, let alone a "real" job, by the time the 10-year rolls around. I don't want to be the only royal screwup that everyone is secretly lauging at there, so I won't go. Maybe I'll show up to the 20th...
