Holiday Decor

So we have been digging stuff out and getting ready to put out our Christmas decorations.

I spruced up the wreath -

Then we decided we needed something for the mantle; so yesterday I went out and got these vases and put purple and silver balls in them. I think they turned out nice -

ooo I will have to post pictures this weekend! We will be out of town next weekend by my parents, and the week after is FH's birthday, so I don't know what we are planning on doing. So, I've decided to start decorating this weekend. I have to say, I'm super excited! :)

The wreath really filled out. Love it! I so wish that we had a mantle to decorate. Yours looks lovely!

We went out yesterday and got my sister a tree; she has been sort of down lately, so we decided to help her put it up last night too.

Hers is done in pink and silver with some purple and white, then she has a big silver bow on the top. My mom got a little 3 foot white tree with pink ornaments for my niece to put in her room too.

I will have to post some pics when I can get her to send them to me.

Now I am even more excited to put up our tree; I am a dork that way :geek:

We managed to get some lights up this weekend (no pics yet) on three out of 5 bushes, out the front of our house. The other two bushes will have to wait till next year because I am not spending all my Christmas money on lights.

This wreathe got finished today. The vine wreathe came from our backyard which we had to clear out anyhow (the vines were overtaking our cedar bushes). The adornments (red & gold berries, red pine cones, rusty snowflakes, red ornaments, & gold bells) were all courtesy of the dollar store.

FH and i are Tight on money.. So we had one of those super small $5 trees.. So we decided to move up and go to the local dollar general and buy a $20 tree!

I put the tree up but i'm waiting for FH to get home so we can but another thing of lights. And decorate thennnn I will take a family picture and post it!

We decided that we didn't have the money to buy a tree, lights, and ornaments this year since it is our first Christmas and we are having to buy everything that we want to decorate with. So we got a few things to decorate our bar and that's where we're putting our presents. We even hung our stockings from the backs of the barstools. I think that it has turned out quite nice though and it makes me Christmas happy! I'll post pictures if/when I can finally find my camera.

Yeah, we love Douglas fur trees. I can't wait to get home and smell our tree and see it all lit up. Makes me happy inside. :)

You probably can't see them, but there are three white birds inside the tree (there's one towards the top, on the left). I want to put some owls in it too, hopefully I'll find some half-price after Christmas.

here is our sad tree. last year we had an 8 foot tree that you had to put each piece (400 pieces) on and color coded at that!
we decided to do a small little 6 footer this year and just make it more simple without our whole living room being taken up by a monster of a tree. - and if you look, we have alot of xmas centerpieces on the table, a menorah on the tableand our little xmas stockings :)

We finally got the tree and put it up on Sunday. I still have more ornaments to put on it. LOL I am too lazy to do the rest so, I am going to tell my Mom that I saved some for her to put on the tree (so she wouldn't feel left out or anything :rofl:).

This is going to seem kinda weird, but we keep DH's bike in the house. It was in the dining room last year but we got a real table. We had to move the couch upstairs and put the bike in the family room. I really don't mind!

Well my parents get me a "nice" ornament every year, they have since my first year. Well we have always segregated them on their own garland or tree. Well i put 2 and 2 together, so here is my really important ornaments on the bike! I even gave her a hat!

It looks pretty good at night! Oh and don't pay attention to the ornaments on the ground in one picture, my cat knocks them off every night. The ones on the bottom are the most destructible!

I've noticed that almost everyone here has Trees with little skirts on. How cute are those! We normally shove a bit of tinsel around the base and hope no one notices :rofl:
