Okay, so I decided on a bridesmaid dress for the adult bridemaids, located here (http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridesmaids_detail.jsp?stid=3581&prodgroup=110&sid=24293), in pool blue. The ladies will also be wearing canary yellow sashes around their waists. All the ladies seem happy with that choice so I'm sticking with it.

The issue is my Jr. Bridesmaid. She's nine, but will be ten just a few days after the wedding. Anyway, she hates dresses but has agreed to wear one for the wedding. I picked out a couple of Jr. Bridesmaid dresses and was going to let her make the final decision as to which one she was going to wear in hopes of making her feel more involved in the wedding and also more amicable to wearing a dress. But she has announced that she doesn't care which dress she wears, so the decision is now up to me. I'm really torn.

Here (http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridesmaids_detail.jsp?stid=3362&prodgroup=86&sid=18889) is option A. I like it because with this dress she can wear a canary yellow sash around her waist like the adult bridesmaids and it only costs $85 and I feel kinda guilty asking her father (her parents are not together) to spend a lot of money on a dress for a child who is still growing. I'm looking at it that while I'm quite certain the adults will never wear their dresses again, it's fact that my Jr. Bridesmaid will never wear hers again.

Here (http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridesmaids_bycolor_detail.jsp?stid=2991&sid=15608&cfid=34) is option B. I like it because the dress is floor length like ones my adult bridesmaids are wearing. I also think it's all around prettier than the other dress. On the other hand, she couldn't wear a canary yellow sash with it like the adults. Plus it costs $119 which I think is a lot of money to spend on a dress for someone who is still growing. But on the other hand, since she wouldn't be wearing a $15 sash with it, in the end the price difference is only $19.

So you tell me, out of those two options, which do you think I should pick?

This is going to sound like a really awful reason to pick a dress, but if she's not used to wearing dresses, you may want to consider whether or not she will be likely to sit in a lady-like fashion. If it's a concern, you may want to put her in the longer dress because you can still sit indian style (or whatever the pc term for it is now!) and it not make a difference.

On the other hand, if she isn't used to wearing dresses and doesn't particularly like them, she may feel a little confined or uncomfortable in a long dress. Especially if she is also wearing dressy shoes that she's not used to, you're going to increase the chances of tripping and falling in a longer dress (I'm the queen of klutzy so I totally get it!)

Personally, I think the longer one is prettier, but that's just me! If you're concerned about cost, maybe you could offer to pitch in the $20 difference to help out?

I personally think the longer dress is much prettier.

Personally I also like the longer dress, it is just gorgeous.

I picked Option A, only because if she's not one to wear dresses, she may like this style a little more since it is not as formal as the other one. just my opinion

I like the longer dress better as well. It's so elegant!

I was pretty much thinking the exact same things as Sandy03, except I prefer Dress A. I think it coordinates well with your bridesmaids dresses and I tend not to like long dresses on little girls. Kids run around and that's hard to do in a long dress. They are both nice though and either would be a good choice.

i looove the second one. the first is a little bit plain, probably more her, but maybe since she is actually going to wear a dress, you should make it a girly one

also, have you checked out the outlet store on davids bridal? they have plently that are under 50.00 and in pool

heres one

also, have you thought of having her wear a dress from somewhere other then davids bridal? Right now with holiday sales, you could porbably get a great deal

I don't know, I don't think the second dress is terribly child-appropriate. Plus I think it will be less comfortable for her. I'd go for the first one.

I really like the second one, but I'm going to guess she may be more comfortable in the first one.

Like someone else said, you may want to look around some dept. stores with it being close to the holidays you may find a good deal for her!

I really like the 2nd dress better - it's so pretty and elegant. However, I agree with someone else that it is not really an almost 10 year old appropriate dress. The detailing around the chest puts the focus there which to me isn't appropriate for younger children. However, with the shorter one you do have to consider how the child will sit.

I also like the one that Earlybird posted.

I would definitely go with the first one!! I think it coordinates better with the bridesmaid dresses and is cuter. I think the longer one is pretty stuffy for a 10 year old, especially one who doesn't like dresses! =)

I really like the second one, my sister (my junior bm) liked that one when she tried it on :)

I'd go with the $85 one.
