For the ladies who carry a purse

Where do your keep your purse at home?

I used to put mine on the dresser in the bedroom, but we don't have a dresser anymore so I put it on the back of the bedroom door.

Well today DH is working on the master bathroom remodel (which is in our bedroom) and asked me to move it. Well I moved it to the other side of the door and he said he'd probably still get it dirty there too. Then he made sort of a snide little comment that he didn't know why I put it there that it was not a coat/purse hook :p Where does he want me to put it?!

So where do you put yours?

Mine is either on the island in the kitchen, counter or the kitchen table.

I think it's a perfect place to put it. After all, you don't want to leave it lying about where someone who comes into your home (workmen, delivery people, even guests for that matter) can just pick it up and walk out with it.

My purse is at my feet; under the office desk. I keep it here because sometimes need my CC number when I am buying stuff online. I also like it handy because I write myself notes while I am out and stuff them into my purse.

We have a little table in the foyer so I usually drop my keys and purse there. If it actually makes it into the bedroom with me, it usually just goes in the floor by the night stand.

I keep it on the hook by the door that I keep my coat on. I don't have anyone come to my palce, so I don't have to worry about someone taking it.

Kitchen counter. There's a small side counter where I can place it so it's not in the way.

I carry a clutch typically, but on the occasion I carry something with a strap I hang it on the handle to the closet door. :)

IT? Where do I put it? I have a suitcase where I store my purses because there is really nowhere else to put them. I've got the big one for school, the less big for conferences and such, my everyday purses, my cuter purses, a and a velvet clutch :)

I put mine on a narrow table located in the entry hallway. I grab it going out the door, and I set it there when I come back in.

mine goes right there on the kitchen counter :)
we have a little "catch all" wooden lined basket and i throw my keys in there and put my purse on the counter :)

below our fire place we have a little ledge that sits about a foot an a half high. it sits there :)

Gosh, it really depends for me. It either ends up on the end of the couch by the front door, a dining room chair, or the coffee table. It never occurred to me to have a designated spot, but it makes sense! It would be a lot easier to find my stuff in the morning. :D

We have a dresser right inside the front door that has a fake flower pot and a basket on it (where we put our keys) and I put my purse on that.

I must have an old soul, cause wherever I am in the house, that's where my purse it. lol, except for the bathroom. I can see my purse at all times, no matter where I am. Habit I guess, my mom is the same way. If an emergency happens, I can grab my purse in half a second, as it is always by my side...except for now, since DH moved it to look for the cigarettes...dang, now I have to go look for it. OCD much?

I am ocd about my purse too Southern Belle!

During the day, not so much. It's usually on the coat hook by the entryway or in the computer room. But when I got to bed, I HAVE to have it in the bedroom with me. In case something happens (fire, intruder, etc) I want to be within seconds of it so that I have the keys to my car and my credit cards. Same with my cell phone, which is always on me or next to me. I seriously can't sleep if I don't know where my purse is or if it's in another room.

I used to keep it by the desk when we were in a 1 story place, but with the 3 story place I keep it on the second floor so if I need something I don't have to walk too far. It's usually hanging off the chair in the dining room because I don't like it in the kitchen. I'm actually surprised my fh hasn't been bugged by it yet. We're both the types that can't stand clutter. Nothing stays out on counters, etc. I would keep it by the shoes and coats but those are on the first floor/entryway. My purse is like a lifeline--all sorts of good stuff in there. I'm the person who always has a pen, mint, bandaid, etc.

The everyday purse (more like a suitcase really) usually goes on one of the stools in the kitchen or next to the couch. All of my other purses are in a bin in my closet. I almost always have my cell phone by my side at all times though.

Good question :) Mine pretty much floats around. It sits mostly on the kitchen table chair. Sometimes on the kitchen table... sometimes on the counter in the kitchen and every once in a while I toss it on the love seat.

We have a small bookshelf between the living room and kitchen... it sits on the top of that, lol.

Mine gets hung by the door on one of the hooks ment for our keys lol. Our coat hooks are down the hall and I'd have to climb a baby get to get to it lol. I used to leave it on a kitchen chair or the floor near the door. But now with a one yr old running around I have to put it up at all times. And trying to get the kids out of the house on time that last thing I want to do is spend time looking for my purse.

In the UK a Purse is what i assume the US call a Wallet.
And what the US call a Purse is a Handbag.

If You mean a Handbag. Mine is always tucked at the side of the Sofa. And My "Purse" is inside.

Confused yet LOL.


My Car / House Keys are hung up in the Kitchen well away from the front door. Some people leave their keys and bags on side tables in the hallway. But with the aid of a rod / wire. It's been known for thieves to get through the Letter box in front doors. Hook the keys and then take the car. Or get the handbag and steal the contents. :bbeek:

Also whenever i use public toilets i never hang my bag on the hook on the back of the door. My Friend did that once. While She was on the Loo someone reached over the top of the door and stole Her handbag. Having Her undies round Her ankles was not a good time to give chase. :bbeek:

Usually on the kitchen counter, and I keep my keys out next to it. My phone follows me around.

If I've brought my purse into the bedroom for something, like to shop online, it stays on the floor by my feet.

And when I'm not at school I keep my purse in my bedroom so my brother doesn't take stuff out of it :-P

this is where mines sits because the kitchen is right by the door I leave for work.

But for instance this weekend I had people moving and didnt want to leave my purse laying around. I picked a cabinet in the kitchen and put it there.

We have a bar by the kitchen and two bar chairs. Generally, that's where I put my purse, because it's central to the house and easy to grab it and go (rather than hunting it down in the bedroom).

I have the same problem of where to mut my purse.
&& i got really stressed out after the comcast guy came to install my cable and internet and i went to the bathroom and came out and he was going threw my purse. But luckly He didnt get anything bc my wallet was not in there.

My FH bought these coat/key rask from the mall. Its black miror with the hanger things for coats at the bottom and the hangers for keys on the sides of the mirror.

We figured since we have this random closet with just the water heater and central heat and air unit in it with a lot of space [ we put our mops and brooms in there] but that we would hang it on the inside of the door.

My purses(yep plural) are all hanging on the doorknob to the closet door. Which doesn't affect Fh in the least bc we dont live together yet:winktongue:
But I know its not good for the knobs or the hinges so I'll probably get a storage thingie or a hanger or something when we move into the apartment.
But the purse that I am using at the moment, when I come in for the night I"ll either hang it on the back of a chair at the kitchen table or put it on the ab lounge (gotta get use out of it someway:) ) in my room.

My purse goes in our bedroom on the floor next to the dresser. DH complains that he's always walking into it, but I'm trying to figure out how he's doing so, because theres a space where my purse goes and the wall, so he really shouldn't be walking into it. I used to put it in the closet on the shelf, but I kept forgetting where it was.. lol:bbredface:
