I got second place!

So over the years, I've been lookin into getting a job with County here in Sac. I've applied for the Animal Care Technician position once before and never even heard back (didn't fill out the app correctly).

Well, I filled it out just for the heck of it about a month ago. A couple days ago, I received a letter in the mail stating that I got SECOND place on the assessment test! I'm so excited! This means that when there is an opening, they'll start with first place, and go down the line: first, second, third, etc.

I'm excited! Not necessarily that I might get the job (which I'd love anyway!), but that I actually placed second!! :whoohoo:

The test is titled "assessment test". On the application, they ask tons of questions such as "describe in detail why you feel you're qualified for this job", "describe in detail your previous job experience that qualifies you for your job", easy stuff like that. But it's all in paragraph/my own words form. I think there were 15 questions. Anyway, for not having a degree, I'm just surprised that I placed second in a county job position!

Between OW, me, and the wall, I've got a secure job where I'm at, and I'm appreciated - but it's corporate and our yearly raises are like $0.40... I can't handle that much longer. My boss doesn't know I applied :( and I hate to do this to him IF I get the job... but hey, in this economy, ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

So, thank you! I hope I get it too!! I hate those kinds of questions too - that's why I was so unsure when I filled it out!
