Do I goto the Dr. and make sure eveything is ok.

DH and I just started ttc. I stopped BC 8 weeks ago (was on it for 5 years) . I have not had a regular period since stopping. I have had some spotting this past week and about 2 weeks ago, no Im not pregnant.

My question is at what point do I pick up the phone and make an appoitment. I want to now but I know they are going to say blah blah it can take 3 months for your body to go back to normal. But if something is wrong, my periods weren't regular before going on bc, the earlier I find out the better.

6 weeks is NOT very long...some Drs make you wait a year depending on how old you are, etc?!?!?!? Good luck, but really, there are so many other things. Have you used an ovulation tester? Taken your temp, etc?!?!?

Im not talking about going to the dr about ttc. I am talking about getting my hormones back to normal etc. I know im not ovulating because no period, I have been sort of temping but no period makes it hard to see where I am at besides my temps are really low (96.3ish). Ovulation tester would be a waste of money.

I would say go to the doctor and try to get that figure out. Not having a period could mean lots of different things. When you call let them know that even before BC your cycle was VERY irregular. Normally they say your cycle should be straighted out within 3 months of stopping BC i believe. So if anything they may tell you to wait one more month. But it never hurts to call.
