I need ideas for table covers for 8 ft long tables. It is our Silver Anniversary. We are having an hors d' oeuvres & cake reception in our church hall. Any ideas? :)
I bought flat twin sheets at Walmart @$3 per sheet... two sheets per 8ft table and VOILA! Saved me several hundred bucks on linen rentals :)

how did you coverup the seams, and how long were they...to the floor???

I can't show you the pictures because photobucket is blocked here at my work, but if you search my posts for my wedding pictures, you can see them. I used two per 8' table because they fit better lengthwise that way, and they hung over about a foot and a half over the sides. As for covering the seams, I had two 8' tables together and used 3 sheets, one on each side, then the third in the middle centered so that it looked like it was seamed like that on purpose.

I found some 60 x 120 at Walmart. Solid white with a ribbon pattern! Looks great! I ran by the church on the way to work since it is across the street here and it looks great! It will come down enough and I do not need it to the floor!
Thanks so much for all of your help!
Awsome! I'm glad you're happy with them :)

Any ideas for round tables? Wonder if buying a sheet and cutting it to fit table and hemming it would work for cheap? Great idea about long tables! I will do that one for sure on bridal table. FCC, did you have your reception at a stable? I actually thought about that, since we have a barn........not sure what I am doing yet! UGH have to get this together!

I had my wedding on the lawn in front of a barn, and the reception was inside the barn. We set up tables in each stall and banquet style down the center of the barn with the buffet right near the entrance. It turned out perfect!! But the barn is not used for animals anymore. It's got cement floors, dual a/c's and a small kitchen.
As for round tables..... that would be a lot of cutting and hemming - it'd almost be worth it to rent the linens. :ooh: Then again, how many tables will you have? I ended up with about 80 sheets because I had 35+ tables.
