I'm not really a cowboy kind of girl but I like that first one a lot. It is understated and formal but not traditional in any sense.

I am also NOT a cowboy type of person. I wonder what cowboys think of the whole Brokeback Mountain thing. But if I had to choose an invitation, I would choose this one that Kacie found. Maybe I like it because it is less cowboy than the rest of them.

Eric laughs about it...it's only a movie...Homosexuality exists...in every lifestyle and culture...we have our beliefs and standards but that doesn't mean someone else has to believe what we do and vice versa. As I have said before... "live and let live". But for the record, no we haven't seen it nor do we intend on seeing it, just like I won't go see a movie about giant spiders or snakes...NOT MY THING.

Sorry Heather, didn't mean to hi-jack your thread...I just had to reply...It's the cowgirl in me!

We haven't seen it either, and I don't thing that J will see it. I want to though, just to see what the hype really is. We have a friend that they call brokeback, because he is such a hick, and homophobic. TO EACH THEIR OWN!! WHO ARE WE TO JUDGE!!!!

Ladies...not to get off subject but the movie is great if you have ever loved someone and could not be with them you can relate to this movie!

Back to the subject: Heather my vote is for the invitations you just recently posted....LOL!

Heather,

I really like the invitations you choose, they are very pretty!

As far as Brokeback Mountain goes, we decided to rent the movie to see what all the hype was about. Both my DH and I have friends who are homosexual so of course we have no problems with that aspect of the movie. However, we didn't like the movie and I will tell you why. It was poorly put together, it seemed like it fumbled around constantly to keep a story line, it was just put together rather poorly. So its not because there is gay cowboys but rather because of the script and directing. Perhaps if it were put together just a little bit better, I might say it was an ok movie. JMO, though.

Brokeback Mountain won the Academy Award for Best Directing and Best Writing. And it was nominated for the Best Motion Picture of the Year and Best Performances by Heath Ledger, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Michelle Williams. And numerous other awards. In my opinion, it was put together fantastically!

Well ya know, everyone has their own opinions. You liked it, I didn't. I'm just telling ya what I saw! lol. It couldn't hold mine or my husbands attention and we are avid movie buffs. Michelle Williams was really good in the movie and so was Heath Ledger, but we found Jake Gyllenhaal to be not putting it ALL into the movie and we thought Anne Hathaway's performance was mediocre as well! Sorry if I touched a nerve, but I still didn't like the movie! lol

No nerve touched at all, Shawna! I just wanted to give my opinion on that movie too.

Well, I still want to see it. I think that I will rent it and make J watch it w me. I have to watch his slice 'em 'up movies, so he can watch that one w me!!

Besides, who can resister Heath Ledger. He's hot anyway, so seeing him in a cowboy hat is doubled for me!!!!!!!

I like the invitation you picked out Heather. Actually I really, really like it. I saw that one too. I thought about suggesting it, but I didn't because I didn't think it was what you were looking for exactly. I never knew until I got into this whole wedding thing that invitations were so expensive, but they are!

About Brokeback Mountian. Justin refuses to watch it and says it's inmoral and all that jazz. I think he is just a homophob. I, on the other hand, own the movie. I think it is a beautiful love story. While the love scenes were hard to watch, the story line is very good. The emotions are something I think most of us can relate to (except for the gay part).

I am not a homophobe and didn't think the movie was immoral, but I was uncomfortable when the love scenes were on. I guess we still have a long way to go with tolerance of this sort of thing.

Well, thanks for the help Kacie. It's the first one that 'pooped' at me, so, it's a go on that one!!!!!

No problem. Are you going to get colored ink or use black? Also, just a suggestion.....You can buy vellum at craft stores (for pretty cheap too) and hole punch at the top of the invite and tie a ribbon to attatch it. It makes the invitation look very elegant. I am doing that on mine. I bought the vellum sheets to do a test run with the samples they sent me. It cost me like $3 for a package of 10 sheets of vellum. With my invitations I could use 1 sheet for 2 invitations. I liked the way it looked on mine. When I order my invitations I will defiantely be doing that. When you order a sample you could always see what that looks like with yours. But even if you don't, I think they look great that way!

Oh, and a word of advice...Do order a sample before you buy. I have order lots of samples and sometimes the pic on the internet can be deceiving.

I saw that they offered samples, but didn't think I needed them, now I will order them.

Thanks, again.
