Sorry i can't help You with identifying the Dress. But why can't You ask the friends friend? You say You feel uncomfortable asking yet managed to come here and ask more strangers. (We'll, i'm the only strange one LOL and welcome to the Forum)
Hopefully someone here will help with naming the design. It is a lovely dress. Good luck in Your search.
I'll tell you what, that dress looks a lot like David's Bridal's E9244 (http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=2979&prodgroup=10) Without the satin around the top of the dress, but brought down to be more of a waist wrap, with ivory instead of red... Notice in the picture there is lace under the belt. Also, see the dress attatched.

I'm not sure which dress it is, hopefully FFC got it or got it close.
For renting a wedding dress, it could be a good idea. That is, only if you don't need alterations. For me, I know for sure without even having the dress, that I'll need alterations, so it wouldn't work for me. If there's a place by you that offers that, you should check it out and see if you're interested. :)

you should defiatly look at Davids bridal, looks very similar to alot of their dresses, or theirs can be altered like that looks like a champagne or light gold with a latte sash. Otherwise just go onto other sites like Mori lee, or alfred angleo they do alot of different colored dresses. If you go onto the sites you can "play" with the dress colors.
My best friend had a GORGEOUS wedding dress ~ she told me last month that she rented it for $100! Crazy good!

I'm pretty sure that dress is Maggie Sottero Camden in the Ivory with Light Gold accent.

I don't know what size you are looking for, but there is one posted on preownedweddingdresses.

The only reason I would disagree with you on the Maggie Sottero Camden is because the dress in the picture appears to have a "pick up" skirt.... :ooh: It's so hard to tell from the pics though. The waist of the dress looks the same though!!

I thought it was a side-bustle, personally... but who knows, with how small and fuzzy the source pics are!
I searched for awhile, but didn't see anything close. :purplex:
