I just have one baby; my chocolate lab Moose! I want to get another one so that he has someone to play with, we just don't have the time right now. M&FIL came over with their 6 month old and they had a blast playing together.

One Little Lad. A Cat called Elektra.

He was named after the Website i met DH in. (Elektra Records, who were AC/DC's record label at the time)

DH wanted to get My Lad a Baby Brother. But Elektra's too spoilt to have anyone else take My time.
Plus He has His moments and is a handful at times.

Elektra that is, not DH

*snicker* So is it fat or just a large breed dog?

Hehe! He's on the lean side and he's a Great Dane, so it's just the large breed in him. He is actually pretty small for his breed, but people still freak out about him anyway.

We have one dog. Kramer...hes a 3 lb. Yorkie. And VERY spoiled!
Hopefuly we will get a cat someday. I have a cat that my family got when I was in 4th grade. He lives with my brother and his wife...But I miss him:(. So I have been wanting a cat really bad here lately.

You are a lot braver than us! One is enough for us! Kramer is like a little furry ball of energy.lol. And he barks at almost anything out side. He barks at leaves blowing down the street! We would like to get a female one day but two Kramers would be too much right now!

We have the two Standard Poodles (Roxie the Angel and Hurricane Willough), and a cat, a cute splotchy grey and white tabby (male) named Fish. Fish is my fiance's cat and it's taken him about a year to warm up to me. Unlike most cats he is affectionate with strangers and enjoys meeting people.

Willough has the ideal personality for a Therapy dog, and Roxie would have been a good agility candidate if it weren't for her bad hips, caused by poor treatment as a puppy, for the first 11 months of her life. She needs a job, but I don't know what we can do for her that is more sendentary -- maybe she can be a therapy dog too, we'll see.

We love our pets dearly, and we're happy that they're in our lives!

Well there IS a Yorkie Rescue that usually has dogs called United Yorkie Rescue. BUT if you look on www.petfinder.com (http://www.petfinder.com) you type in your zip code and you can give details if you want, like you want a yorkie female or whatever.

But Rae is coming to us because on a yorkie forum I am on there are two sections, a for sale one and a rescue/rehome one. A lady from around here has to relocate back to China and she doesn't want to put her Yorkie through that and I am adopting her. When we get her tomorrow I'll probably start a thread about adopting her and put up some pictures. I have a picture of her now, but I will make an official "Reveal" hehe

I have one furry child, a four lb. chihuahua named Cocoa. Jeff has 2 black lab/australian shepherd mixes - Patches and Dusty. Cocoa isn't too fond of them, but they're learning to co-exist (as long as she can get up on the bed away from them!)

We have a bearded dragon named Rocco. We both want dogs, but need to wait until we get a house. In fact, Rocco is more my brother's than mine, so once he gets a new apartment, he is going to have Rocco again so we can get our dog, so we are more the foster parents! Otherwise, I have another "brother" who is a golden retriever, his name is Owen.

Ack! I forget sometimes that fish "count." We have a brackish (half saltwater, half freshwater, where the ocean meets the river) tank, which has in it a puffer (SO CUTE), a small shark, and a cichlid. We also have a betta in his own tank. We're going to switch out to a larger tank because our brackish fish are growing like crazy. Our cichlid is getting aggressive, so he may get a tank of his own with another cichlid or two.

At mom's house we have a miniature schnauzer, Allie (see avatar :)). She's been my baby since I was 14 and I hate that I have to leave her soon. I want to get a dog with FH but it seems like we'll have to wait awhile.

My friend has fish, 2 dogs and 7 cats :bbeek: It's amazing to me.

We've tried a dog twice before, and it just didn't work, though my DW still itches for one from time to time.

Oh my, we just added a tank of 5 guppies and other assorted fish.

For those of you keeping track, this brings us to:

1 Great Dane
2 kitties
1 brackish tank with a puffer, cichlid, and shark
1 male betta
5 guppies

How we became fish people, I do not know. Like a month ago we had zero fish and saw a puffer for sale. I had no idea we'd end up with almost 10 fish from that one tiny little guy.

My husband's morning feeding routine takes like 10 minutes now. :bbeek:

first all, wow that's a lot of fish! Secondly....awww for the great dane ! I had two growing up and they hold a special place in my heart, I hope to have one again some day. They're such a unique breed of dog.

My current animal count is rather high, 4 cats, 2 dogs (lab/hound and a chow/husky/aussie/spaniel mix) many many chickens, a dozen turkeys (til thanksgiving, hee) and 8 horses.
I love my animals, and can't imagine an animal-less life. :)

I second (or 3rd ;)) that!

I have had animals before and sort of could take them or leave them, but now I can't imagine not having my babies! It pains me to think they won't be with me forever, but I know I will have to have another at some point after they are gone.

My family actually has 7 dogs..I know..that's a lot.
We were stationed in Okinawa Japan for 3 years and they have lots of strays wandering around there so we ended up with 4 originally, then 4 months before we were moving from the island, two of our dogs decided to get married and have babies, out of 5 we kept 2 puppies. That totals us to 6. Flying on the airplane believe me was such a JOY with the two puppies considered as carryons...and pushing six dogs in LAX is noooo fun..:bbeek:

We have an new addition to the family...a little chihuaha(my cute ugly dog)..
Oldest to youngest: :grinhappy:

1)Griffey (Beagle/Dachshund mix)
2)Happy (terrier/Dachshund mix)
3)Bruce Lee (Okinawan Mutt)
4)Nago (son of Griffey and Happy)
5)Naha (daughter of Griffey and Happy)
6)Cookie (Dachshund Mix)
7) Peanut (Chihuaha)

I love, love, love Great Danes. They are my gateway drug to dogs. Haha. I didn't really like dogs until I met my (then-future) husband, when he had a Great Dane. He was so mellow and sweet and loyal that I fell in love with him. That particular dog died a couple years into our relationship, but we later decided to get a Great Dane puppy together. Once we buy our own house, we may get another dog, but I think we'll always have at least one Great Dane because I just love them so much.

Right now we have a Miniature Beagle (Pie), a Pomeranian (Fry), a big ole' mutt (Thai) and two cats (Xander & Ollie).

My house feels pretty empty though. I've always raised some sort of animal, whether it be livestock, small animals, fish... whatever. But, ever since I moved off the farm I was renting, I sold everything.

I really want to get back into breeding/showing rabbits. It was such a fun hobby (but holy cow... expensive!).

We have thirteen gerbils, one male ferret (Guinness), one female Roborovski hamster (Pikachu), one female leopard gecko (Draco), and a lonely male zebra finch (Pippin--his partners keep croaking on us...)

The gerbs are my main love though. :) I have seven girls and six boys.

The boys: Sniff, Duff, Sig, Cornie, Snicker, and Doodle

The girls: Daisy, Topaz, Amber, Citrine, Honey-Jade, Sunny, and Lily.

Sniff and Topaz are the parents of everyone else, minus Daisy. Daisy-girl was my first gerbil, and is somewhere around two years of age.

Our apartment is an animal madhouse!
