Ladies/Gents,

I'm looking to surprise Mel with a packet of husband coupons, but I'm low on ideas. So far I have coupons for:

one footbath and footrub
one breakfast in bed
one full-body massage
one candlelight bubble bath
one (or two) coupon(s) for any activity of his choice (I know what that's gonna be!)
one shower together (I need my space -and share of the hot water - so I don't usually shower with him much these days)
one hand massage and manicure
I didn't write coupons for the typical date stuff, because we spend a ton of time together alone. Taking walks, going out to dinner and movies, watching movies at home, spending time alone talking, etc. are things that we do on a regular basis. I also cook all the time (even consulting him sometimes), so that won't be special to him either. It's finally getting cold here, so motorcycle rides and picnics probably aren't gonna happen anytime soon.

Please help by suggesting ideas for other things that he may find enjoyable. I've made 20 coupons, so I need a lot of help.

My husband loves, loves, loves sex, so I'm sure that the "free" coupons will cover that! LOL!

Thanks in advance! :)

Cute idea :)

The only other thing I can think of is maybe one for his favorite dinner and/or dessert.

Thanks, Brandi! I made one coupon for his favorite meal and another one for his favorite dessert - brownies! The coupon book is decorated and ready to present, but if I get more ideas, I'll make another one - if he behaves! :D

This is going to be a total surprise for him!

Nice; so is this a birtday or something, or just because?

I love the coupon idea. My stepfather did that for my mom one year and she really liked it - until he never followed through when she wanted to use a coupon! Hahaha.

I think you'll do better...

You've got a good list of coupons there. I think he'll love it! :)

Brandi,

It's a "just because gift". :) He's been earning husband points by doing things without being asked lately. I started off teasing him about "husband points", but today, I figured, "why not reward him".

He's been properly sorting his clothes - he was previously throwing everything in one hamper - totally clueless that one was for lights/whites and one was for darks. He's also been "making the bed" (the best way he knows how) if he's the last one to get up in the morning. He knows that I HATE unmade beds; I LOVE my bed when it's dressed up like a hotel bed, so he's been trying to please me. It's not totally unselfish though. He knows that if I have less work to do around the house I'll have more time and energy for his favorite pasttime! *sigh*

Gwen,

I hope I'll be able to follow through when he tenders a coupon. His timing is off sometimes (OK well frequently), so I might have to delay gift-giving a time or ten. LOL! I know it! He'll probably try to cash in a coupon just as I'm about to make dinner, leave for a meeting, drive one of the kids somewhere, etc. Or worse, during Bible time, which is Friday night! Yikes!

Can I make a suggestion? Put in a coupon or two that you'll do one of his hobbies with him. You don't have to be good at it, but he'd probably appreciate that you show some interest in things/sports/activities he likes to do that you're not normally a part of.

Just a thought.

I "gave" DH the coupon book last Friday. I put it on his nightstand as a surprise. He loved it! I inserted two "Free Choice" coupons, so that he would feel empowered about his gift choices. LOL!

Initially, he didn't try to tender a coupon, but WHY did he wait until I was in bed (dead tired) to ask me for a back rub and/or fresh batch of brownies? That's when I had to let him know that some of the coupons required reservations. LOL!

CenturyGuy, DH's hobbies are making sure that no one steals the sofas (a.k.a. watching tv), riding his motorcycle, and spending time with me. He also likes using tools, so I usually watch him work and do what I can to help. I will suggest that maybe he could use one of the coupons to request my presence during a hobby from which I usually shy away. Great idea!

P.S. - I wear the sports pants around here. :bblol: If DH ever makes a coupon book for me, I want 16 coupons for watching football games. He needs to learn to love my beloved 'Skins!
