We put an offer in on a house yesterday!!!! We need to have somebody buy our house first before we can move forward with setting a closing date and all the other fun things.

So, please, all your good thoughts and prayers would be most helpful. We are so excited and want to start planning, but we need a miracle to have somebody buy our place soon!!

So, I just talked to our realtor. Apparently, they are countering, but are expecting another offer with a home sale contingency. Which means, we could be in a bidding war. Oh great.

Good luck on getting your house! Is your offer contingent upon selling your condo too?

I had a couple that was interested in my house, but they wanted me to drop the price to $80K :bbeek: There was no way that was going to happen because
I still owe $85K and with the closing costs and realtor commission, I'm going to be adding another $10K to that figure as my bottom line.

Should I come down at all off of my asking price of $94,900 - I'm going to be paying someone to buy my house. :(

Update. Bad news.

They countered at a few thousand higher than their asking price! No closing costs, no appliances. It was all around a crappy deal. Our realtor said the house was a few thousand below fair market value, so thats why they can counter higher. As FH said, thats not our problem they listed too low. So, we aren't going to counter and just let it go. They are just being greedy now.

If we sell our condo and they are still waiting on the other people's contingent offer, we could go in and try to make an offer again. I was so crabby last night/this morning, but I think I'm better now...I think.

Thats what happened to my grandma! She cried for days when they didn't get the first house they wanted.. Now shes SO GLAD she got the house she did. Don't lose hope!! :D

Thanks ladies, you are all so wonderful! Its hard when FH and I are both frustrated but when I get support from people outside of the situation, its easier to keep your head up, knowing that you aren't alone!

We are starting to look at some more houses in the next few days. I will let you know how it all goes!!
